Question Moto G Power Messaging App

I don't like the messaging app. I just bought this phone.
Can I install the Samsung Messaging app and use it on this phone?
If so, where would I get the app?

Also, when the phone restarts I don't like hearing the woman saying, "Hello Moto."
Can I turn this off somewhere?
    Thank you.

I don't see a Samsung messaging app in the Google play store so likely can't use that app on your Moto. FWIW I use the Textra messaging app on my phones and really like it.

You can turn off the "Hello Moto" sound in the settings menu. Go to:

    Settings/Sound/Advanced/Power On Sounds

Turn Off Power On Sounds & you should be good to go.

    Question

LOL...I just looked at your location.

THANK YOU! I would have never found how to shut the Hello Moto lady off.
NOW...how do I get rid of the Discovery Bar- or at least change what's on there. I don't look at celebrity's or my horoscope much.

About the Samsung Messaging app. I found a site online that says you can download it....but I will not as it looks sketchy.
    I'll look into Textra.
HOW do I get rid of the screensaver with the clock on it? I'd like to just go directly to the Lock Screen.
    Again, thanks a million!

Press & hold anything you want to remove from the screen for a second or 2, then drag to the top of the screen onto "remove".

Do you know if you have the 2020 or 2021 Moto G?

I wanted to like the 2020 Power, but took it back because the outgoing ring was so faint at times I couldn't hear it. (Actually took 2 back) The call volume through the earpiece also jumped up & down.

I now have the 2020 Stylus, but it also had the same problem with erratic up & down call volume. I solved the problem by turning on the "Hearing Aid Compatible" setting. Battery life is a bit better on the Power, but not huge. Both phones are currently on Tom's Guide top 10 phones for battery life.

I have 2020 Moto G Power and sound has been turned up all the way for me also in order to hear incoming calls. Just lately an update seems to have made the sound louder.

Yes, both the volume & equalization of sound through the earpiece adjust more aggressively than before to any ambient noise.
