5G available on legacy unlimited plans like Unlimited Plus beginning on March 2nd

Well if this is true now I feel dumb. I liked my previous Unlimited plan and only change it for 5G access. Just did this last billing period. #smh

Depending on when your billing period ended/how long ago it was, you might be able to call and have it switched back. Probably worth a try.

If I really depended on my hotspot line, I would have regretted switching over to the Elite plan.

When home internet went down due to the ice storms in Texas, At&t was running so slow here that streaming would have been difficult. Verizon fared just marginally better.

You mean the new Elite?

The old Elite was QCI7 and has 30GB off hotspot on every line. It’s the best plan you could possibly have during congestion, assuming you’re not eligible for FirstNet.

Yes, I was able to switch from Unlimited your way to the older Unlimited Elite via Retentions. I have 30 GB of Hotspot on all my lines with Elite.

I was able to get 5G working tonight.

I am on unlimited plus multiline and using an esim. Apparently “5G access” had been added automatically on the 4th but the phone wasn’t provisioning correctly. After several calls, and several hours of troubleshooting I finally got someone who was willing to help. They did some kind of 5G specific trouble shooting which ultimately provisioned my phone for 5G.

I keep 5G off most of the time. 9 times out of 10 it’s slower than LTE. At least with a 5G phone I have uncapped video on unlimited starter now though.

How does that work? I thought that Stream Saver was forced on with Unlimited Starter and enforced regardless of device.
