I am using Calyx and getting 25-30M download from the Franklin T9 hotspot. My issue is that I don't have anyway to automatically reboot the device if it locks up. I would like to put in in a Mofi 4500. I just bought a Mofi Sim 8. What do I have to do to get it to work?

I don't have issues. I am trying to prevent issues by having my router or hotspot reboot once per day for PM. Looking to see if I can use a Mofi with Calyx so I can set it up to reboot once per day. My setup goes unattended for months on end so needs to be trouble free

Make sure you are using the generic firmware also.

No place in the new Mofi 4500 sim 8 that i see to change to generic firmware

I’ve never used a Sim 8. On the Sim 4 it was in the internal modem settings I believe. Have you checked there?
