    Hd voice call to t mobile user ??

    Any one else experience an HD voice /video call from a tmobile user?

    I was in Newport News VA and noticed when the person called me it had HD voice icon and was a video call.

    If I go to contacts and video calling I dont see the user in the video calling group . Anyone have any feedback with this

    We both have android but im not sure which phone other user has.

    HD Voice is what Verizon calls VoLTE. Verizon use to (still) use CDMA for voice calls, but that started to change on 1/1/2021.

    As a Verizon subscriber, I would think that all of your calls should now be HD Voice.

    No HD Voice between Verizon & T- Mobile around here. (DC Metro Swamp area)

    VoLTE & HD Voice are 2 different things. All calls over LTE are VoLTE, but HD Voice requires both handsets/carriers to have the right codecs.

    Well, now there is EVS-SWB 13.2 which is a higher code than 12.65/HD Voice. I haven't seen any cross carrier EVS yet between carriers.

    I called a tmobile user this morning an the HD icon showed up

    During the call the video icon showed up but the person didn't want to video call lol

    For phone configuration, they are treated as being interchangeable terms. With the loss of CDMA, on my Verizon phone, I had to enable HD Voice. On my generic/unlocked phone, I had to enable VoLTE.

    When I called my sister who uses Metro by T Mobile I had an HD Voice connection.

    Evidently it's area dependent. I call my mom's T-Mobile line every day & get NO HD Voice through Verizon.

    If I call her from AT&T I DO get HD Voice.

    Nothing for me on my Verizon phone and my TMobile prepaid phone near Dallas. I called some users on Metro and TMobile postpaid and nothing there either.

    HD Calling from Verizon to T-Mobile started working here today. You can hear the difference even before the call is answered. The ring itself is even more HD than with just a plain VoLTE call.

    There is voice HD and HD+ two different codecs.
    T-Mobile had that active for a while and, at least for two years, Verizon has it too. My phone is unlocked, so that "HD" symbol does not appear on screen, but the service mode can show the codec that's actually in use.

    This is the equivalent of HD+

    I do see an HD icon, but not sure if there is way to check the codec on my phone?
