    14.5.1 Connectivity Issues?

I updated to 14.5.1 two days ago and both yesterday and today I’ve had connectivity issues on my iPhone 12. In known good coverage areas, I go from no bars (and the words No Service) to 1 or 2 bars and no data or cellular service. I can’t call out nor can anyone call in.
Both days I noticed it around lunchtime and in two different locations, miles apart (like 15) so it’s definitely different towers.
Yesterday after two reboots, it seems to have resolved it. Today it took about 5 but it’s working now.
T-Mobile confirms no service coverage issues in my area. Apple suggests to wipe and set up my phone as new which is their solution for everything and I’m not doing that. It takes hours to get it all back to normal….
    Anybody having similar issues???

None on my 12mini. Upgrading from the 7, missing a band or 2 of LTE and no 5G, I've seen improvement.

My 12 Pro Max now needs rebooted every time I come out of airplane mode, otherwise it just sits there in "No Service"

I am hoping the next update fixes this, as it's an issue i've not had since my Android phone haha

Tried this multiple times on my iPhone X with Big Red. No issues. Must be an iPhone 12 thing.

Yup.. 5G SA was enabled.. So I assume it has something to do with that.

But it does it with my AT&T and Verizon SIM cards as well, and as far as I know neither of them are running SA 5G like T-Mobile is yet.

I have a 12 mini running 14.5.1. I'm not on a 5G connection, but put the phone into airplane mode then out after 30 seconds or so; no problem. I'll try when I am on 5G.

I don’t think it is just a iPhone 12 thing. My legacy Sprint iPhone X, running iOS 14.5.1 and TNX, needs to be re-booted at least daily and up to four times a day to te-gain data connectivity. My brother-in-law has similar issue with his iPhone 11 Pro Max.

It is getting annoying while my wife’s iPhone 8, also running iOS14.5.1, is having no problems whatsoever. I do not have VPN or wifi on.

My data issue happened twice just today while my wife and I were both outside at a restaurant. Her iPhone 8 works fine. A hard re-boot, shutdown, and waiting about 20 min. before turning it on, brought my iPhone X data back to life. Even my OnePlus Nord 10 5G is maintaining data connectivity.

Apple tech ran hardware diagnostics last week at the Apple Store and found no hardware issues. Thus, it seems like an iOS 14.5.x issue since T-Mo tech support has swapped out the TNX SIM, re-activated multiple times, updated profiles and re-set network settings countless times.

I am getting issues at work. I get call failed a lot. I have a XS on Xfinity. I thought it was because of my Apple Watch.

    Anyone try a network reset?

I still have zero connectivity related problems on my iPhone.

Weird how some need to reboot several times per day while others like me have no issues.

No problems with the other iDevices in my home either.

    I’m in SoCal.

    Yes, many times.

Every time that I call Sprint, they ask me to do a network reset, turn off WiFi, turn off phone for 10-20 minutes to allow for profile update. I have done this ~15 times over the last ~30 days - too many to count.

I have erased and reinstalled backup. So now, I am removing apps - mostly utility types - one at a time once or twice a day. Definitely not my preference.

I am in central MN - living in a fringe rural area. However, yesterday, I was in downtown Sauk Rapids, MN where I know there were several Sprint towers nearby but not sure about T-Mo. My wife’s iPhone 8 worked like a champ and my iPhone X had “No internet connection” - both with same settings.

Apple and T-Mo support teams are trying to play nice and address my issue without the blame game, but they both acknowledge the T-Mo/Sprint integration challenges and disruptions.

I may have to play my Apple Care card.

Mine only acts up going in/out of Airplane mode (and I conveniently fly planes for a living). I usually am flying 3days/week.. so it's annoying when at work, but at home when it's off airplane mode the other 4 days it's fine.
