T-Mo customers' name on others caller ID

I'm on the Magenta 55+ with my wife. When she calls others, for sure tonight to a friend with a landline from SBC Internet Services, Inc., my name shows on the caller ID.

Is there a way to either have it show like (made up names) "Susan Smith" or "Sam & Susan Smith" when SBC Internet Services, Inc. does their database dip instead of the "Sam Smith" it does now?

    Thanks!

I have the same plan as you. Is the account in your name ? If so, that is why it showed your name. You can change the displayed name in your account settings.

Login to your T-mobile internet profile - near the top left, choose edit account settings - select caller ID - change the displayed name per mobile phone #

That should help. If it doesn't, you will need to contact customer service.
    Just another day in paradise.....

There are two things that have to happen:
    1) The correct name needs to be associated with the line in question. See @Serial Port's comment above.
    2) The change needs to be propagated to and picked up by the other carrier's caller ID server. This can sometimes be a bit of a problem and it may take a while for the change to be recognized and take affect. Just be patient and be aware that the system has a lot of moving parts and different actors who all need to do their jobs. (Not just on T-Mobile's end.) Hopefully, with SBC it should be pretty quick.

Donald, thanks for the additional information for the OP. I forgot to mention that.

Thanks to both of you; I'd assumed it would take a while, while being, I hope, more than an hour, less than a week. I'd also GUESS that a previous dip might be kept for a "while" without rechecking.

It's not a big problem; my wife has had only 3 people in 2 years that she remembers ask why my name shows instead of hers. She's in contact lists with most she calls.

I mean, usually the answer of "my husband and I are on the same account" should handle it.

I will say T-Mobile is usually pretty quick to do the update, but as it was said above.. the landline side may take a while.
