I bought one from Amazon and it says it has band 66 5G but it doesn't give the option on preferred networks for 5G.

I know that the OnePlus 8T and OnePlus 9 do not have 5G, VoLTE, or Wi-Fi Calling working on TELUS.

I thought it depends on the model and the NR bands.

No, Telus doesn't support any OnePlus phones.

The link that you provided shows that almost every OnePlus owner has trouble with TELUS. Even the last post made yesterday says

So just to update on this situation, I had a very similar experience as @peterkieser .
Spent a significant amount of time talking to various individuals, until I finally got an escalation ticket going. Finally got a hold of someone in Quebec, who at first told me my device was completely incompatible. I then referenced this forum and told him that I he was incorrect, my device is indeed compatible. He then pulled a complete U-turn and said that yes, my device is compatible and that he can "flip the switch", but if he did, any later changes to my account could overwrite what he had done. So I thanked him, then he asked if we could continue through text. We went through rebooting and resetting my network settings, attempted to follow his instructions, but no change whatsoever. No word back from him since last Friday, June 4th.
I read over and over that Telus considers OnePlus devices 'being incompatible or not supported.' Only two people got TELUS to add the backend support to make their OnePlus phones compatible.

Over at RedFlagDeals, OnePlus owners cannot get 5G, VoLTE or Wi-Fi Calling working on TELUS:

So I just got a OnePlus 8T and not only does volte and vowifi not work, but 5G also doesn't work on Telus. I know there are ways of enabling them but apparently it's temporary fixes as everything gets reset if you swap sim or perform any OTA updates.

    Hola
I bought the OnePlus 9 when it first came out and I am Telus as well. I also cannot get VoLTE, WiFi Calling, and 5G working. As soon as I switch back to my Samsung S21+, all features work as per normal. So yes Telus seems to be blocking non-Telus branded phones... I can't find a solution yet.

Telus only support the phones listed on their website. Don't think OnePlus is supported by Telus.
