boom! Mobile - No More AT&T

I just looked at https://www.boom.us/networks, and only see Black (like Google Fi (???)), Red (Vzw), and Purple (T-Mobile).

I know a lot of people liked the boom! AT&T annual plans, but I guess they are no more...

Here's what a boom support agent told me:

ATT has, hopefully temporarily, maybe permanently, removed the renewal of data from our plans which does not allow us to activate or renew customers plans. Due to this we are not allowing customers to renew on the yearly plan, so they would have to move to month-to-month. If the data ends up getting cut off before your yearly plan ends, we plan on refunding the remaining months.

Boom would have to renew data on monthly plans too, wouldn’t they? My month 5 ends on the 13th.
iPhone 12 Pro is my current primary phone. And also have a Galaxy a10e as a backup travel phone.

Good question. My renewal options seem to be the same except for the removal of annual plans.

Parsing the verbiage might be not allowing renewals between boom and att of more than a months worth of data. I have no idea how it is done back ends monthly. Maybe just don’t want to commit too long if doesn’t work out.

RedPocket is still selling annual plans for AT&T. 8gb/$20/month, 20gb/$30/mo. https://www.redpocket.com/plans/ebay...content=banner
I wonder if AT&T caught on to the bonus data of the 8gb Boom situation. When they started booting the $35 iPad plan users, it seemed like they were aiming at the heavy data users first.

Not only that, but Red Pocket is offering month-to-month plans - 10gb for $15, 22gb for $20, 50gb for $25. This is actually better than the annual plans, which is amazing to me. I think these plans must be new. I'm seriously considering jumping to RP GSMA.

Those are first month only prices during Red Pocket's current "First month 50% off" promotion, regular prices are twice as much.

Wow-- that's cheap, and all networks are listed. I'm pretty sure this is new within the last few days-- I was looking for a good fit for a plan for a friend a few days ago, and one of these would have caught my eye. 3GB for $10/mo, too.
My Tello referral code is P3BSR5HV, and gets both of us 10 Tello Dollars to pay for a plan.

I stand corrected. Those prices I mentioned are first-month-only. After that the prices double to what I mentioned.

The 'new' plans listed on Red Pocket's site may only be a one-month promo that isn't identified as such.
Amazon has what appear to be the same plans, but clearly marked as 50% off, for first month only.
