Anyone live in a 5G+ area but hasnít experienced 5g+?

First can someone confirm that the light blue areas are in fact 5G+ areas and if you live in one of these areas whatís your experience been like? Thanks so much

The light blue is sub-6 5G, not 5G+. 5G+ on AT&T is largely relegated to a few city downtown centers and some stadiums/arenas. The cities were vaguely listed out back in 2020, but not easy to locate. The stadiums, on the other hand, were added directly to the coverage map earlier this year.

The experience is about what we've all been to told expect from mmWave. It stretches about 1-2 city blocks in each direction that they have antennas pointed. Where I live, AT&T seems to be placing two mmWave antennas on a pole pointed in opposite directions, generally facing each way up/down a street. The performance ranges from about 300-1200 Mbps down/20-60 Mbps up depending on how close or whether there are any obstructions between you and the mmWave antenna. During the summer months, it's awesome to have it if you're sitting out on a patio at a restaurant or bar. But once you step inside, it generally drops off right away.

Having tried out Verizon's mmWave, which is far more pervasive coverage-wise, reaches about 3000-3800 Mbps in ideal conditions, and does not count against data usage limits; it's hard to be as enthusiastic about AT&T's implementation. Both providers' mmWave sites are still amazingly fast compared to LTE and sub-6 5G, but unless and until AT&T starts putting up more mmWave or at least maps out the coverage on their website, it's hard to be enthused about something that's so difficult to find/stumble upon and rarely works indoors.

There will be a 5G+ dot on the map where they have it and tapping it will tell you exactly where that coverage is expected.

Like here where the only spot in Colorado is inside Ball Arena in Denver.

Here in Atlanta itís located at the Mercedes Benz stadium but today I noticed it around some government and capitol buildings. I managed a grab a speed test of 645 Mbps down and 58 Mbps up.

Iíve only seen 5G+ in 3-4 places tops, here in the Hollywood area of Los Angeles. Look at Franklin ave in the map right under the 101 fwy and thatís where I get 5G+ at about 500-625mbps DL. But this access only covers like 3/4 of a mile. Ridiculous Name: IMG_0341.jpg

Just search for their 5g coverage map. Then put in your address.
