    Tracfone Rewards Phone Recommendations

I am planning to purchase a couple of phones via the rewards program. I have two separate accounts and I am planning on two separate purchases.

First purchase…I have enough points for a $50 coupon and plan to purchase a $50 phone. This phone is a gift for someone who needs an extra phone. I purchased a 1200/1200/3gb AT&T sim during the recent sale. I will use that sim to set up this phone.

Second purchase…I hope to accumulate enough points on another account to get a $150 coupon. I have enough for a $100 coupon but currently working toward the $150 coupon. This phone will be used on TF Verizon. It will replace a Moto G6 that I unlocked, so I am looking for an upgrade to the G6. I have been happy with the G6, I am just looking to upgrade.

    I would appreciate recommendations.

About 2 months ago I used reward points to get a Moto G Power (2020) for $149.99 and I like it. Unfortunately, TF removed it from their inventory about a month ago. There are currently a few Moto G7s under $120 and a Moto G Stylus for $200. I don't have any experience with them.

The Moto E (2020) is a very good phone for $49.99 to use your 1st coupon on. I got two of them with points and I'm using one.

There is the possibility you may not be happy dropping back to an E model Moto. But the Moto E (2020) may be an exception... it is getting very good reviews from seemingly all new owners.

I am looking at the Moto E for my $50 phone purchase assuming it is still available when my pending wheel points become available in a few days. I am limited to $50 on this purchase.

I am not sure what I want for my upgrade to the G6 purchase. This purchase can be up to $150.

Still trying to decide on the upgrade phone that I want. So far, nothing is really jumping out for me. I haven’t quite reached the $150 level yet and nothing at the $100 level appeals to me. This is a want to have, not a need to have, so I am not in a hurry. The only thing that is encouraging me to purchase sooner rather than later is the uncertainty around the Verizon takeover.

Set up the BYOP SIM in a new account, with a referral from the account that has 11000 points. Now you've got at least 16000 points, maybe 17000 points after 60 days.

Play the wheel and scratch games hard for 60 days, and maybe you can get a $300 coupon with a 4500 point spin or a couple of 1000-2000 point spins.
Tracfone rewards referral code ITRH-8866 gives 8,000 points to new rewards members at rewards.tracfone.com or in the Tracfone App.

Reviving an old thread here. By the time that I reached the $150 level, there was nothing that appealed to me. I am hoping for a Black Friday deal. I currently have a Samsung S9 and a Moto G6. I don’t need a new phone. This is strictly a want.

I am still looking for suggestions. The Tracfone phone offerings seem fairly limited right now.

There's no phone in TF store that's comparable to your Samsung S9. There are some decent phones priced around $200 (Samsung A51, Moto G Stylus). The ones priced below $120 are blahs, the ones priced over $220 are overpriced.

The Samsung A51 may go even lower in price for black Friday. It is being heavily discounted at numerous places... Walmart being the latest

The other day, I kinda wish I knew Walmart was going to drop the Straight Talk A51 because I bought one of the Tracfone A51 from HSN, but luckily I got the $20 off of it.

I am still thinking if I could save the plan off the HSN bundle before I rebrand it to Straight Talk.

If the A51 drops to my $150 price range then it is definitely a contender. Since this is strictly a want I’m trying to avoid anything that would cost more than the points that I have available.

Well, I see that TF has dropped the price on the A51 to $179, but that is still over my target price of $150. Too bad.

I’m still not seeing a phone that I feel I need to jump on. Again, this is a want not a need so I can be picky.

I know the A51 is $100 on Straight Talk's site, but that does not help you that want to use rewards points on a phone over at Tracfone's site.

I’m disappointed that Tracfone didn’t drop the price more on the A51. Since it is offered at $100 other places….$179 doesn’t look that good. I keep hoping for something that my rewards points will cover that I like. I know, picky, picky.
