    Congestion question

What am would be the cause of very 5g high upload speeds (like 200mb) with extremely terrible upload speeds of like 0.1mb? Seeing this all over Los Angeles lately. Because the upload is so bad it’s impossible to open a website even half the time even though the download is awesome if it ever starts.

Move to Texas to get higher speed as Elon Musk

Means you're connected to N41, probably quite weak as well. 4g B41 alone with 20MHz will give me 130Mbps down, and 8 Mbps with a strong signal. As B41 (n41 as well) is midband TDD, it will drop quickly. Eg. Strong 5g n41 with LTE will give me +700Mbps down, and 140Mbps up.. go a little distance, and I'm getting 500Mbps down and 65Mbps up... much of that is LTE AWS.

I stand corrected... uploads have tanked, and even packet loss to boot.

Much of the issue appears on Samsung a32 at least with 5g enabled with packet loss. Speeds are acting primarily on 5g where n41 isn't really strong, and n71 in general

Whatever it was, it appears be to 'normal including upload for me. Packet loss appears ok speediest on 5g n41

Wonder if it's the mediatek modem in the a32. Never used a mediatek 5g device, but heard sometimes they can be a little...I guess wonky is the best word..compared to the Qualcomm modems.

All modems are wonky compared to Qualcomm.

Bingo...I don't get any packet loss reporting on OnePlus 8. Also, indoors, I'm getting 20-25Mbps upload on lte with OnePlus vs. 6-10Mbps.
I haven't really noticed this issue much in the past, but this device upload drops off really quickly (software upgrade?) Recently.
This qnd LG Velvet were the only ones I used. Ditched LG velvet due to lack of SA 5g

The exynos 5G modems are pretty decent, though not many u.s. devices use them yet. Should get a better grip on how good they are with the pixel 6 lineup.

The Samsung A32 uses Mediatek Dimensity 720 5G. I've used the Mediatek 1000C on LG Velvet, and didn't have issues, outside of no 5G SA

T-Mobile did follow up and state that the packetloss I'm receiving is due to 4G LTE connected closeby, and 5G connected from +1 mile away.. loss is on the 5G side due to weak signal.

Weird you wouldn't see it on the one plus then.

Yeah... I thought about that as well. I suspect either the One Plus (Qualcomm) is better at handling poor radio conditions, or Samsung (Mediatek) is a piece of , OR TMobile is blowing smoke.

I'm a bit suspicious of the app's packet loss figure -- 17.6mbps / .054 (94.6% packet loss is 5.4% packets getting through..) being 325mbps, suspiciously close to the 354mbps download speed. Normally if you have 95% packet loss, you have very close to 0 throughput (TCP does not deal with that high of packet loss, you'd get dialup speed or stalls even on a 1gbps connection (5% of 1gbps is 50mbps, but you'll get more like 1/1000th that speed, 50kbps, if you're lucky, with that much packet loss.))

That said, if the 95% loss is because of some traffic management going on, then it would do controlled packet loss to get the speed down to what it wants (I guess 17.6mbps in this case...), not random packet loss that prevents traffic making it through at all.
