TF Samsung A51 vs Samsung A32

    Tracfone.

    Which would be best choice.
    Samsung A51 or Samsung A32.

Both are near the same price on some shopping sites.

    Which one?

    Are you asking about the A32 or A32 5G ? Here's a Comparison of A51 vs A32 vs A32 5G .

The A51 and A32 have roughly the same physical size and screen size. The A32 5G is bigger. The A32 5G has a lower-res screen than the A51 and A32.

If I were to buy one, it's a toss-up between the A51 and the A32, but I would not buy the A32 5G due to its lower-res screen.

I'm always discovering more about the Samsung A-series devices. The first I ever heard of was the A10, offered by one of the TracFone companies.

But then (and not necessarily referring to their availability by TF) there was the 01, and the 50 (which was considered a pretty good ~$300 phone in 2019 for people who didn't want to get into the S-series).

Now there's a 10 series, 20, 30, 40, 50, and even a 70 series (what, no 60?), with each having gradations of models within the "deci-limiter," as I call it. And 5G versions.

So Samsung is now really taking a shotgun approach with its non-S-series devices, it would seem. I'd like to read a comprehensive comparative rundown of the lot of them.

You can go to www.gsmarena.com , put in the make/model and it'll show all the specs. On popular models, they usually have an extensive review, and opinions from users. I don't care much for Samsung phones, I think they're overpriced, and I can't stand their user interface. They change/hide the typical settings and I can't find them as easily as with LG and Moto phones.

I think the OP was looking at the 5G version because I have seen it up for sell under Tracfone.

I would stay away from the A32 5G unless you have 5G and really need 5G.

The A51 is a great phone, and I have not seen any big issue with my A51 yet.

The only issue was somehow my mircoSD card that was a little over a year old went corrupted. I do not know if it was my microSD card or the phone that did this tho. I think it was the card because it was a brand that I was testing to see how good it was. Plus I got it from a discount/closeout warehouse really cheap at the time.

Price wise, the A51 was $269.99 and the A32 (5G) was $299.99 on TF web site. A few days ago, the A51 dropped to $219.99 and is still at that price today 9/15. That would make the A51 a better buy, in my opinion.

    @ hpham:

That's a common complaint about the Sammies. I've never owned one and have only handled one a couple of times. The thing I do generally like about them is their displays, which can be very nice.

That A10e (I think I first saw one in a Walmart at the Straight Talk stand over a year ago) was a bit of a shock as it was one of the first lower cost phones I'd seen with the newer (non-16:9) aspect ratio, and on this device it's a bit small (narrow).

Wouldn't be interested in the A01; I'll bet the Moto E 2020 blows its doors off!

I have tried most brands offered at H/SN and Q/VC. LG, Moto.

Found the Samsung to be the easiest to navigate. Currently have J7 Crown. Which is the best that I have had.
I can't stand brands putting the speakerphone on the back. Yes, some Samsung have on back.

My vehicle spares are the Samsung J2 budget phones. And do work fine in a pinch.

I guess folks get used to one interface and seek the same for ease of use.

Not in a hurry. But will be gettng another Samsung in the future. As I only have 16 GB on the J7 Crown. Yes, have a micro sd card. Has worked flawlessly for a few years now. I can wait. For prices to come down for newer phones. But with the chip shortage - who knows when that will happen.

Then, the elephant in the room - Verizon.

TF Samsung A51 vs Samsung A32

I had an A32 5G on a spare line for a few months on T-Mobile. It’s a good budget phone, battery life is very good and the camera is decent. It’s a little laggy sometimes and the screen isn’t super ultra HD - but I did like the fingerprint reader in the power button and that it had 5G. The in-screen fingerprint readers suck, and some kind of biometric unlock is a very desirable feature for me.

I unlocked it and sold it. I had a Pixel 2 XL after that and prefer that over the A32 5G. It was also very cheap which helps.

Castrol EDGE 0W-20 is my drug of choice.

Primary: iPhone 13 Pro eSIM; Pixel 2 XL
    Secondary: TracFones: iPhone 13 Pro dual-SIM [AT&T] & iPhone 13 mini [Verizon]
Mobile Broadband: ZTE Z917 LTE hotspot (5GB for $10)

I have both. I think the A51 is a better phone and has 128GB storage (vs 64 GB for A32 5G). The negatives are the in screen fingerprint reader and no 5G. The screen on the A51 is much better, both higher res and is OLED. The A51 feels snappier

The pluses of the A32 5G are 5G, slightly larger battery (5000mAh vs 4000mAh) and the side fingerprint reader (in the power button). The larger battery makes it feel chunkier than the A51. The A32 5G will get updates for longer because it is newer and because Samsung has upgraded it's upgrade policy to 4 years security updates

I don't know about on TF, but there is an A52, which I assume is in the A50/51 lineage. And it might be 5G by model definition, or there may be a 5G version of that. Probably trumps the A32 at a good cost upgrade.

Just remember that international models might not work in the US since lots of the carriers are checking the IMEI anymore.

I'm not catching much of what distinguishes the A52s to get that extra $200 in price.

Specs wise, the A52s has slightly faster processors. The prices quoted on that site are "best prices" at the moment (they change frequently) and some are used/refurbished, not valid when compared to the brand-new price of another model. For example, the $379.99 price for the A52 5G is for a "renewed" one on Amazon.
