Question Alternate to CDMA Phones to work with MVNOs ?

Alternate to CDMA Phones to work with MVNOs ?
    ============================================

Thanks for replies to my posting.

I am using LG Dynasty (Boost) Sprint CDMA phones with TELLO. I received a text from TELLO saying CDMA will discontinue on 10/31.

Are there ways to use LG Dynasty (Boost) Sprint phone in GSM after CDMA dies ?

We know At&T pre-paid work with MVNO like redpocket.

What are the other pre-paid phones work with MVNO like redpocket?

    Thanks for sharing.

You'll need a new phone, no way around it

From my quick search online, your phone does support 4G and should continue to work with Tello. It appears the phone does have a SIM card so the CDMA shutdown should not be a problem. You should be able to use the phone as normal.

Did your carrier specifically say that your phone would no longer work ? I don't see any reason it wouldn't. Sprint and Verizon have both been selling phones on the 4G network for at least 4 years and stopped selling CDMA-only devices for about the same period.
    Just another day in paradise.....

I don't believe Tello will allow phones that don't have T-Mobile VoLTE. LTE bands alone is not enough.

The easiest checks might be to enter the IMEI here
    https://www.t-mobile.com/resources/bring-your-own-phone
    or
    https://www.mintmobile.com/byop/
Or of course on Tello's own site:
    https://tello.com/bring_your_own_phone
My Tello referral code is P3BSR5HV, and gets both of us 10 Tello Dollars to pay for a plan.

    .
AT&T allows their branded phones to be used on AT&T MVNOs, even while still locked.
T-Mobile allows their branded phones to be used on T-Mobile MVNOs while still locked.
Verizon does not allow their phones to be used on MVNOs while they are still locked.

AT&T Prepaid phones are generally sold in department/discount stores, and frequently go on sale or clearance.
T-Mobile phones are not generally available in similar stores, so it's harder to find a bargain.

    Thanks for weighing in.

I have my LG Tribute Dynasty (4G LTE) with Tello Plan. I talked with the Tech support, who said after 10/31 the call quality will not be good as before.

They also said after 12/31, my LG Tribute Dynasty (4G LTE) will not work with tello. I am not sure, why is it.

What is the reason, my 4G phone stop working after 12/31 ?

AT&T allows their branded phones to be used on AT&T MVNOs, even while still locked.
T-Mobile allows their branded phones to be used on T-Mobile MVNOs while still locked.
We know Walmart Family Mobile use T-Mobile. Will this work with T-Mobile MVNO, while still locked ?

I find Straight Talk use T-Mobile, At&T. Will this work with T-Mobile MVNO , AT&T MVNO, while still locked ?

    Thanks for your guidance.

No, they won't. Walmart Family Mobile and Straight Talk are TracFone-related brands. Those phones are locked to TracFone MVNOs.

Have you read this page: https://www.t-mobile.com/support/cov...work-evolution

That might explain part of the issue.
