Will C-band be available for business customers?

I’m just getting hip to the 5G stuff and I’m wondering if this new C-band rollout will apply to people like me who are on a business plan with unlimited data.

If your plan includes UWB access then yes you should.

I’m guessing we should know on the 4th when Verizon has their big announcement. I’m assuming they will announce updated plans that day as well.

Heck yeah. The carriers, mostly Verizon in the case of C-Band, have a huge motivation to get as much cell traffic off the legacy bands as they can. Verizon is horribly congested on the legacy bands in a lot of places.

I’ve definitely noticed the congestion for years now. I’ll have full bars yet be completely unable to use data in some spots.

    To use C-Band, you:

    - Have to be on a plan that explicitly includes access to 5G Ultra Wideband, either as part of the plan or as an add-on feature
    - Have to have a device that has hardware support for 5G band n77 and/or n78 AND has received a software update enabling those bands
    - Have to have either an eSIM or a physical 5G-ready SIM card
    - Have to be in one of the top 50 Partial Economic Areas (PEAs) except DC/Baltimore, Atlanta, Denver, or Honolulu (list of PEAs, map of PEAs)
    - Have to be within range of C-Band, so within a mile or two (maybe three) of a cell site with C-Band installed on it AND active

Thanks. I should meet most of those requirements. Not sure about the cell tower proximity.
