Original Iphone SE on Consumer Cellular(ATT)

I have a friend in central WI on Consumer Cellular ATT service. He recently received a notice telling him that his iPhone 5s will need to be replaced by 2/01. I have an unlocked original iPhone SE for his use, and it will work for the VOLTE required, but was wondering if it will cover the needed bands of operation as well?
    Any information will be appreciated.
    Thank you!

It doesn't have newer AT&T bands 14, 30, or 66, but still has the other bands that the 5s had. If his AT&T service was good with the 5s, then it should be just as good with the SE.

But if the 5s was using 3G bands for its current service, then that has no bearing on how it will fare with 4G LTE bands, right?

As far as I know, 3G was/is on bands 5 and/or 2. The SE will have LTE (VoLTE) on those bands, plus 4 and 17, so coverage may even be a bit better.

Appreciate the info. As far as he has mentioned, the 5s has acceptable coverage. The VOLTE was his concern. I told him of my old SE, and thought it might be nicer for him then the bottom Android he was considering.OR, their flip phone.

    Thank you!
