MiFI 8000 unlock - I know this is useless... but....

I've got a MiFi 8000 here, but I do not have an active Sprint SIM anymore to put in here and finish the unlocking process (confirmed by T-mobile/Sprint it's marked unlocked, but of course Sprint's system is jank and requries an active SIM card to complete it)

Anyone have any ideas on how to finish getting this unlocked, or even manually updated to a newer software version (either via SD or PC) as I'm actually trying to use a T-Mobile SIM in this, but it currently will only accept Sprint SIM cards - I know it's missing some bands, but I only need this on PCS/AWS LTE anyway.

Any suggestions are appreciated!

Yup.. that was 2yrs ago. I found that already but I was hoping a new idea had popped up since then.
