    Hmmm...thanks for the responses.

    The problem seems to be with my home internet. I connected to a different internet source, and it worked!

    I've been experiencing the same problem with home Internet service provided by AT&T for the last few months. Surprisingly if I connect using my phone as a hotspot, which also uses AT&T, it works.
