Anyway around Visible's phone model list?

A friend just got a new unlocked Moto G Stylus and it's not supported by Visible. Is this just Verizon limiting models to try to force some people into their more expensive options?

Not how I see it. They want to certify that the phone is fully supported by their network. Upselling to a different model is only a bonus for Visible.
    Just another day in paradise.....

    Something to try:

Order the SIM an service by telling them you have an iPhone. They don't ask for the IMEI for iPhones. Install the app and activate the SIM in your choice of phone.

I don't know if this still works. It is unlikely that a phone as new as a Moto G Stylus is actually incompatible. I'm running it on a Moto E6 that is a few years older. It used to be on their supported list, but was removed recently.

I think it is more that they want a limited list of phones for their support people to support. Visible is a bargain service. Support services are expensive to provide.

What model is the Moto G Stylus? Could it be an international model?

They use Verizon towers. Do they not need the EISN for CDMA backwards compatibility?

Visible does not use Verizon’s CDMA network. Only LTE and 5G

Plus Verizon dropping their CDMA at the end of the year. I have even heard they have drop CDMA in some markets already because they needed the bandwidth for 4G and 5G.

Hmmm so you're sure they don't need the eisn to setup the phone? How do they know if a phone is stolen/blacklisted etc then?

I know OP has the 2022 model. I have the Moto G Stylus 2020 on Visible. It's a treat. I don't know why the 2022 model wouldn't work. Have you chatted them & asked?
Visible (by Verizon) receive $20 off the first month. Please use referral code: 36csHv - https://www.visible.com/get/?36csHv

I will be Judged on how I helped the poor, sick & others in need; strangers & loved ones alike.

    My plans:
    Visible (Verizon) UTTD $25/mo
    T-Mobile Gold Rewards $10yr exp 12.25.23
    FreedomPop (AT&T) Target $4.99 once 100 TTD a month each 29th

Most newer Verizon based phones that I have worked with so far only need you to know the IMEI or MEID of the phone.

I just chatted with their support. I was told they use a different "cloud" then Verizon. So only phones that they work with manufacturers with will be compatible. So even though it's unlocked and has all the Verizon frequencies, it's not accepted on their network.

I did see they don't list the Moto G Stylus from any year on their compatibility list.

I was able to use a Pixel 2 on Visible that was not on the list. Data worked but calls and texts did not.

I use Google Voice exclusively over data, so it worked fine for my situation.

If that's the policy now they roughened it up. Maybe it's just some CSRs saying that. I hope so. I have both the Moto G Power 7 (2019) & the Moto G Stylus 2020. They were both on Visible's approved phones list. If I have to go back to the Moto G Power 7 (2019) & Visible will not let me. I would be upset.

It's sad, but most Chat reps at most companies, most of the time, relay totally wrong, or borderline wrong information.

That has been my experience. And the experience of a lot of people I know. It is just a sad state of affairs.

It's not the reps' fault. It is the fault of corporate management for not training their reps.
