Check IMEI for original retailer and/or carrier lock?

Could you recommend a safe web site to check a phone's IMEI for it's original retailer and/or carrier lock?
Many of these type of sites look sketchy so I'm hesitant to enter info.
    iPhone 11 on Tracfone/VZW.
I hate Apple. (I really miss Android)

Idk of any site that lists the original retailer. And checking the individual carriers & MVNOs IMEI checkers will give you that info but they're not 100% accurate all the time.
I will be Judged on how I helped the poor, sick & others in need; strangers & loved ones alike.

    My plans:
Visible (Verizon) UTT & Unlimited Data $25/mo
    Liberty Wireless (T-Mobile) UTT 09.06.22
    T-Mobile Gold Rewards $10yr exp 01.03.23
    Truphone (AT&T) every 180 days by 07.18.22

I tried Verizon's but all it told me was that it would work on VZW.

The back story...I bought a Total Wireless phone and started a chat with TracFone to have them rebrand it as a TracFone. He said it was successful. I just wanted to see if I could confirm that somehow (without entering my IMEI into a sketchy "unlocking" website).

The whole need to even mention rebranding when cross activating TF company phones is one the jury's still out on. Some mention it and some haven't with no negative affects even when it comes to unlocking.

    https://www.imei24.com/

I used this all the time when I was shopping for used phones.

I don't think it can tell locked/unlocked because that is based on how you used the phone. Unless you know it was originally factory unlocked or not.

See what it says and report back.

    I just tried it.
It made me jump through hoops and popped up new tabs and offers. The kind of site I was hoping to avoid giving my IMEI to.
Oh, well. I guess I'll trust that the TF agent switched it for me (even though it may not even matter).

Is it working on TracFone? If it is, yes.

I haven't activated the phone yet. Just trying to make sure I have my ducks in a row before doing so.
    Thanks.

You might look into getting an ad blocker. They are golden.

    Thanks.
On the first activation, an unbundled airtime TF company phone should accept the airtime for any TF company. But Verizon may have mettled with what was true before.

You should get an intervention warning if it doesn`t want to accept the airtime.

locked status of Apple devices is determined on apple's activation server and is tied to the IMEI

for android devices its on the device itself and so cannot be determined based on IMEI

eBay has numerous sellers of apple 'GSX reports' that provide who sold the phone, lock status, etc. there may be some websites that provide for free or for a fee as well but may not be reliable at all times. all services paid or free i believe involve some form of unauthorized 'hacking' of apples systems. the only 'legitimate' way i believe would be to visit an apple store with a device and ask if the people there can help provide the information.

I started a Chat on Apple's website and they ran the #IMEI and told me the original retail seller and the carrier lock.
They were very helpful. I still hate Apple. ;-)
