I activated a RP GSMT sim on FreedonPop with prefix 89012608 on 10/17/22, post 181 in this thread. I have the free 300 / 1000 / 100 plan. Glad I got it when I did!

I activated mine on 10/15/22, so I guess this was about the cut-off date. I didn't realize I was getting in by the skin of my teeth.

I activated a RedPocket GSMT sim card on the FreedomPop "free plan" back in August. I'm using the sim card in a couple different KaiOS flip phones (Go Flip 3 and unlocked T-moble 2760). Wifi calling works in both of these phones. I contacted Freedompop support through Chat and had them add my 911 address to enable wifi calling.

Free plan was not in the list anymore when I just tried to activate a red pocket GSMT.

Did you have to create a RP login account just to order the sim?

I had to create a login to order my GSMT sim. I don't know if most in this thread also had to create an account to get the sim. I do wonder if the creating a RP account was to deter people from ordering the $5 sim from RP to use on FP.

Account was required to order SIM from Red Pocket. I bought 2 GSMT SIM. One was succefully activated with FP free plan in August. Just tried to activate the other but no free plan showing for selection.

didn't deter me. I have plenty of disposable junk emails addresses used exclusively for these one off accounts. once the items ship, I typically delete or change the billing/mailing address and change it to a 30+ character pw until I need it again

Since my RP Sim activation took place on Oct 24th/25th in post 182/188, I'd say you both had another week to activate yours.

Perhaps they ended it on the last day of Oct 31st? Or perhaps my failed port-in that got escalated for cancellation and release caught the eye of an astute CSR who noticed it was a RP Sim? All speculation at this point w/o other data points though

I did. First time I accidentally bought the GMSA SIM instead of the GMST, then I forget my user name and it took 10 days (or so) for me to finally get on chat to find it — and then it took about about two weeks for the SIM to arrive. But it worked when I finally got it.

I don't think so. I think they just want you to open an account, hoping you'll come back and buy a plan.

Thanks for the tip fv22652! Good to know that Wifi calling is available on these free plans and working on flips. Re-read thread, IsLand_BoY confirmed Wifi calling needs CSR.

I would enable Wifi calling if there was an easy, self service way through the web page, but I have no desire to chat/talk with a CSR. My service is working okay and I use it for data mainly. It's self-renewing each month, so I don't want to jinx it. Only issue is the blocking of my non-VoLTE Sony phone, but the forbidden sharing feature on the Flip 2 lets me use data on the Sony.

There was a $5 alternative method for getting a cheaper SIM card and activating it on the FP Walmart exclusive free plan. That method no longer works. Now the only option to get a SIM and activate the FP Walmart exclusive free plan is buying https://www.walmart.com/ip/seort/680827893 for $9.98.
