    Recent Page Plus Survey

I've received SMS text messages for both my PPC lines since refilling in mid-October, inviting me to take a survey about the service, the most recent one today.

The only question on the survey? To paraphrase, "On a scale of 0 to 10, how likely are you to recommend Page Plus Cellular to a friend or relative."

And I'm thinking to myself, do the people administering this survey know that you shouldn't be recommending something to someone that's not going to be around much longer?

I figure the survey is being conducted by some third party outfit that was contracted who knows how long ago, and PPC (ahem, TracFone) management just didn't get around to pulling the plug on it.

I gave a response of "0" and explained the reason why in the followup text entry field. They even give people who have a distaste for writing the opportunity to leave a video response! How trendy!

I just had to smile again at being asked if I'd recommend a dying brand to anyone. I get it, but still...

Hey, I'm sticking it out to the end, most likely!

Maybe take the survey and the company more seriously. I like the service in use, but the customer or technical support is lacking. I hope subscribers who like the service and saying so in the survey would influence Verizon on the decision of what to do with Page Plus Cellular.

The decision on what to do? That's a done deal, having announced no new activations as of the start of the current month! Do you think we have any influence at this point? We've got two years minimum, more if in California.

We really do not know. I am one of the "we", so I only hope that the survey results would be an influence.

I believe that no new activations only applies to dealers. The Page Plus online activation page is still up and seems to be working https://www.pagepluscellular.com/activate/

You did not say if you took this far enough. "Seems" to be working, but if you recently tried an activation, did the process reach activation status, or was an error or interruption put in to stop the process?

@rpz1, about posting #7, thanks for the reminder AND the clarification.

    From the other thread:
“In compliance with the FCC order related to the Verizon acquisition, both existing and new customers can enroll in plans for the Net10, Page Plus and GoSmart brands until November 2024 (California customers will be able to take advantage of these plans until November 2026).”

That means new activation's at least on their website, but maybe not with dealers. Of course you wouldn't want to activate a new line as that date draws near anyway.

I don't think many are using dealers anymore. After the Tracfone buyout years ago the dealers lost special access to PPC CS, and lost interest in store support. There are very few dealers in my area anymore, and they don't do much.

I don't know about the dealer provisions, but I have to admit that I misinterpreted some aspects of the announcement, and that what rpz1 posted two posts up is the real deal. I regret the error.

But as to the survey, I couldn't recommend anyone become a user of PPC at this point, even though for me the service type has been ideal, and could probably sustain me for years to come. So, maybe someone could sign-up in Oct. 2024, but how long after that would the service continue? Potential hassles ahead? Sounds highly probable.

Does PP allow sim stacking/reserve on monthly plans? If you can, I'd assume your service will stop after November 24 whenever the month or stack of months expires. As far as on the PayGo you'd no longer have service 120 days after your last renew.
So on the day before the end (whenever that is). If you're on monthly, stack as many as you can and if on PayGo, renew whether you need to or not.
Hopefully before that there will be some notice and we'll move on to avoid the hassle before the actually cut off especially if we don't want to lose our phone number. But maybe they'll give us a complementary new 5G phone and year of unlimited service on Total by Verizon. NOT.

Page Plus Cellular will as is said, customers should "check back for more information" at their site or page:
    https://www.pagepluscellular.com/network-changes/
    https://www.tracfonewirelessinc.com/...zonacquisition

Whatever you see there, that is the link given for users to check; it looks unready as I just now viewed it. ("error 26")

    ...
It let me enter an IMEI and asked me for a SIM ID. I didn't have SIM so I didn't continue but there were no errors up to that point.

    Survey intent

I never got a request to do the survey. But, if I do I will vote "recommend", since I don't think it will be taken literally in the context of the possibly imminent demise of service. In fact, the survey may be a last-ditch attempt by some entity tasked with determining if PPC has enough loyalty in its customer base to warrant them giving us a better outcome down the road than Verizon was otherwise planning. A vote to "not recommend" plays into the hands of those decisionmakers at Verizon who would like to justify (to the FCC or whoever) their intent to leave us out in the cold by proving we apparently don't care much for our service anyway.

IMHO, how you answer the survey will have zero affect on Verizon's handling of the PP shut down. That was decided years ago even before their purchase of TF was finalized. Companies do business plans years in advance.
They will be losing more customers that are and want to remain on TF/ATT or T-Mobile then the number of PP customers.
