    TF getting aggressive

My S10e is still using a TF/T-Mobile sim. Still has about 4 years of service and large bucket balances. Today I was sending a text and got a message that said "Unable to send message - Message Blocking is active". WTF? Got the message on anyone except 611611. Balances were correct. So, I tried to make a phone call. I got the TF interrupted message telling me they were now part of Verizon, get a new sim etc. As soon as I hung up, calls and text worked normally.

Just a heads up for anyone that falls victim to these TF shenanigans.

Just a very aggressive method to get your attention that you need a new SIM sooner than later. It seemed to have worked, didn't it? I don't know when a possible cutoff date to switch will actually happen. Remember that TF is now owned by Verizon. There are no shenanigans, just trying to make sure that you update the SIM before it gets completely shut down eventually.
    Just another day in paradise.....

I have seen people get these issue because they are trying to get people to switch to a Verizon based SIM.

Assimilation In Progress. Resistance Is Futile.

Believe it or not, the anniversary date of Verizon taking over TF is about just 2 weeks away. Time flies. Even before Verizon got approval to buy TF, I saw the handwriting on the wall and got all my phones on TF to use Verizon. At my location, I get good service from all 3 major carriers and I don't have allegiance to any of them, so I have no problems with using TF/Verizon. If Verizon service ever goes down for some reason, I have a phone with FreeUP AT&T service and a phone with Walmart Freedompop T-mo service.

I am well aware of the Verizon takeover and they didn't need to block texting to "get my attention". The interruption of the phone call would have been sufficient.

Yes, time flies when you are having fun. I manage 5 lines on TF and have canceled 1 and moved 3 to Verizon. Verizon coverage sucks in my area and T-Mobile is very good. So, I will hold out as long as I can and will port my S10e phone# to a T-Mobile MVNO and try to combine balances with one of the Verizon sims. I did see, in another thread, that TF is limiting to only combining 30 days of service from donor phone. If true, that would really suck as the T-Mobile sim has almost 5 years of service.

The reason that many or at least some people chose Tracfone service is because the company is not (or was not ) Verizon.

From what I remember from the other posters who were "nudged" off AT&T and/or T-Mobile, they at least get a text or email warning prior to having their service interrupted.
I guess that did not happen here.

Nope. No notice. I was aware they were interrupting phone calls but knew nothing about texts. It sent me down some rabbit holes until I finally figured out it was something TF was doing.

That appears to have been disproven. The 30 days came from the usual CSR making up on their own what they did not understand.

Wonder if they will still allow harvesting of minutes on eBay Tracfone deals by switching devices?

How would Verizon tell it was not a normal upgrade?

Wait a minute! Do you mean to say that TF CSR'S are making things up as they go along? I find that hard to believe.

The FAA has local offices called Flight Standards District Offices (FSDO's) at different states/cities. The aviation rules and regulations cooked up by the FAA are very complex and can be interpreted many different ways. When an airplane owner or aircraft mechanic wants to do something that is not clearly stated in the rule book, they sometimes call different FSDOs to "comparison shop" for an FAA inspector that would interpret the rules in their favor. The joke among aircraft owners and mechanics is that "Each FSDO is independently owned and operated" (like the McDonalds franchise)
