    Unlocking new refurb Tracfone active after 60 days

    TF says my new refurb Stylus bought in August and active ever since isn't eligible for unlocking. After checking several times after my phone had 60 days of service, I decided to chat. The agent checked and said not eligible until 12 months of paid service. Anyone else have this issue? I pasted in the part from their website: If the TracFone device was activated with new service on the Verizon network on or after November 23, 2021, then at least sixty (60) days must have elapsed since the device was activated.

    This didn't help. Anyone else have this problem?

    Was your service ever interrupted for more than a week? It is possible that something was noted to your account that the rep could not share with you.

    Right after I wrote this thread, I called the unlocking department and he checked and said my phone IS eligible. By the end of the phone call, I had the instructions in my email. It worked!

    Chat is useless for unlocking -- but the unlocking department is surprisingly easy to work with. One of the few parts of TracFone I say if automated processes don't work, just call them direct.

    Thanks for sharing your experience. Glad you got it taken care of. Never forget that some of the folks in regular customer service are not the sharpest tools in the shed.

    I'm sure the same could be said for some of the 'customers, SerialPort, but I still try
