What version of Google Play system update is everybody seeing on their Pixel?

I'm curious about something. What version of Google Play system update is everybody seeing on their Pixel?
Settings > Security > Google Play system update

My Pixel 3a XL was stuck on August 2021 (yes, 2021) since sometime shortly after August 2021!

I was afraid to update my 3a XL to Android 12 back when it became available due to horror stories I'd read about reduced battery life and other issues, including slow performance, so I had kept mine on Android 11.

What's odd is that Google Play system update is NOT supposed to be dependent on Android version, so there was something wrong with my 3a XL, but otherwise it was working fine, and the battery was still lasting 2 days until it got down to 30% remaining (albeit down from lasting 3 days with 20% remaining 1-1/2 years ago), so I just left it alone.

Until 1/1/23. I decided on New Year's Day that I'd take the chance to update it to Android 12. In doing that, the Google Play system update DID go to 11/1/22. Hopefully, Google Play system update will continue updating normally on my 3a XL from here on out. But of course, as far as the OS goes, Android 12 is as far as the 3a XL will update.

The 3A gets no more security or Android updates from Google. The 4 and 4xl hit their end of life in October 2022 and Android 13 was the last update they saw. Next up the 4a hits end of life in August of this year followed by the pixel 5 in October.

The op is talking about Google play system updates though which are different. You will generally see those as long as Google still supports whatever version of Android you are running. You just won't see any software or security updates.

While not a Pixel phone, my Galaxy S21 5G is running version 33.5.16-21 [O] [PR] Play Store for comparison. I am using Android 13. It looks like my phone will be downloading an updated version of the Play Store shortly.

Has any Pixel phone received the December Google play update?

I do have the current January 5th Security update. Received that after taking out sim and doing factory reset.

I'm using Graphene OS, but I have sandboxed Google Play installed, and the security updates typically come out when they're available from AOSP. I have the Jan. 5, 2023 security patch and Google Play is on version 34.0.12-21.

So, the December 2022 Play System update was apparently actually skipped, at least according to https://9to5google.com/2023/01/23/pi...pdate-january/, and the January 2023 Play System update is only for Pixel 6 and 7 series phones.
