So the husband kind of broke his A51 (the charging cord doesn't seem to be able to make contact with the battery) and was browsing on Tracfone's site earlier today to see what phones were out there for a replacement. When he entered his phone number, some of the phone prices changed to free after upgrade discounts of up to $75. I just tried tonight, and I got the same offers. Not sure if the website glitched and is offering it to everyone - give it a try if you might like a spare phone.
The phones that were free were:
- TCL A3
- BLU View 3
- Moto g Pure
- Moto g Power
- Orbic Journey V
- LG Reflect Reconditioned
On the final page, just before clicking 'Place Order,' there was a note:
"This offer is good only for your phone number. We reserve the right to automatically transfer our service to your new Verizon phone after completing your oder."
So, order at your own risk.
That's the funny thing. Both our lines are currently on TF/Verizon. Remember that fiasco last year when he and I both bought the A51 at a migration discount ahead of the TF/ATT whitelist shutdown? Then TF turned off my TF/ATT service and forced me to migrate to TF/Verizon sometime last Jan/Feb? We've been using that same A51 (he has one too) on TF/VZ since then.
I was wondering if the offer may be for those still using 3G phones after Verizon shut down their 3G network in Dec. And the website glitched and couldn't tell which TF/VZ lines are using 3G phones vs VoLTE phones. I did lose service on my PagePlus phone for a while there, even though it's VoLTE capable.
Same deal on a TMobile line for me.
Ipe2 if in stock it offered that to me for $85.
Was not offered on any ATT or VZW lines. Will be curious if can use rewards points to pay the discounted rate.
There was a report in the PagePlus forum of someone that got a free phone to replace their 3G or non VoLTE.
I entered my Iphone se number which is on Verizon.![]()
I got offered two reconditioned phones - Samsung A02 at 19.99 (recommended) and the TCL A3X at 29.99 (savings for you).
I will pass.![]()
My Tmo sim got placed in a non volte phone at some point so it triggered the offer. Since then it's moving around but it was definitely on the network for a bit in an old tablet that worked fine without volte.
