Trying to solve the "add airtime for a friend" mystery

I was thinking about this add airtime for a friend, and it seems like there could be two things going on:
    1) TF is trying to prevent *rewards points* from being used to add airtime for a friend
    or
    2) TF is taking away add airtime for a friend, period.

There may be a way to predict which of the two above is likely:
Right now, using rewards points gives the "credit card invalid" error.
How about if someone tried to add airtime for a friend using an airtime PIN purchased from Target/Walmart?

If TF is preventing airtime PINs from being added, then #2 is more likely - that add airtime for a friend is going away for good.

(BTW, has add-airtime-for-friend been a long-time feature of Tracfone service? It's a really cool feature, in my opinion, something that makes TF stand apart from the rest of the prepaid carriers).

You can always do "Add airtime for a friend" and select that you have an airtime PIN or BUY a timecard with a credit card, whether on the web site or using the app (Android or iOS). It redeeming points for an airtime card for a phone not in the same account that used to work with the iOS app but not anymore. It's probably not a popular opinion, but I think TF is just enforcing the term that reward points cannot be shared with another account.

I tried this the other day, on the Android APP,
It was for 1 gb data, 1000 points, the receiver got the data, BUT, lost the points. No points were taken from me. Go figure.

This happens all the time for me where I was able to redeem points from the other account. A way to piss people off if you know their TracFone number.

    Idea

For those with lots of spare BYOP SIMs around, add one to your MyAccount, load it up using RPs

transfer it to the other MyAccount and do a combine to the the target device/line

OMG, I can't believe the new low that Alex Trac has stooped to - he sent me a PM *plagiarizing* hpham's post! Just the other day our prof was giving the class a lecture on the evils of plagiarism, and here Alex is plagiarizing hpham word for word! And then tacking on the usual chat-with-us stuff in the end!

Yeah, that's a new low for TF, stealing my post words for words. I should start putting copyright on my posts and charge them for using my posts.

Give it some time before they start using ChatGPT. Or they can use Bing AI for passive aggressive messages to us all. At least that would be more fun.

Lol, Alex is trolling us. He's had enough.

Maybe he will grow to love us all - or ruin us all..

Shocking... there's always a problem with Tracfone.

Tried to add some airtime to my son's account and getting validation errors, credit card has been declined errors (not even using one), and 'call customer care' messages. Tried with iOS and Android apps, some using the phone # and some using the serial number.

Hope they get this fixed and aren't taking away this ability.
Let's change "when pigs fly" to "when Tracfone's website works".

Say, don't bots answer a question with another question to affirm understanding of the first question?

    "Are you saying...,etc."
