Log into your Safelink account. If I remember correctly there's an option there to check if you need to upgrade to the Verizon sim. If the text is legit, the offer should be there.

It goes to a site that says "Sorry but this link is not valid or has already expired.", with nothing else.
I've gotten it maybe 3 separate times, and it always leads to that error.

Verizon bought Tracfone and all of Tracfone brands on November 23, 2021. They are trying to get people off of AT&T and T-Mobile based SIMs before November 23, 2024.
I know some people have been forced to switch SIMs in the past.
As advcomp2019 said Verizon is trying to get as many customers switched to the Verizon sim as they can before the November 2024 deadline.
With that said, I could be wrong, but I don't think the message you received is legit. Besides it taking you to a link that says its not valid or expired, I haven't heard of Safelink or TracFone offering a free gift card to switch. The usual offer is switch to the new Verizon sim and get a free month of service. For customers using a phone that isn't Verizon compatible they may offer a free cheap phone.
