Can the same phone get pending AAL points again if AAL is raised in the future? Care to test this?

AAL is currently at 500 which is a value of $5. It's not much incentive anymore. Possibly it might go up in the future but we don't know. Consider the following scenarios.

You add a line using chat. You get 500 pending points. You don't activate the phone yet. A while later, Tracfone raises the AAL bonus to 5000 or more. Of course you want the higher value so:

Scenario One. You remove the phone with the pending points from your account. After 60 days the points disappear. You re-add the phone to the same account using chat again. Do you get new pending points in the higher amount? Do the points vest?

Scenario Two. You remove the phone with the pending points from your account. You re-add the phone right away to a different account. Do you get pending points in the higher amount? Or wait the 60 days for the points to disappear from the first account and then add it to a 2nd account. Do you get new pending points? Do the points vest?

This would be an attempt to see if the same phone can get pending points twice. It's not an attempt to double dip. Anyone care to test this?

I really enjoy such "mind experiments" with Tracfone's system!

There's a huge underlying assumption here though, that TF will increase add-a-line points from 500 to 5,000, which is unlikely to happen, in my opinion.

Edited to add -- actually, TF's add-a-line rules are pretty clear on this - the same IMEI cannot get add-line points twice. So even if you remove the line, TF could (and will!) argue that the IMEI already received the points.

They are likely referring to phones that are have been activated. Makes sense only one time per phone unless it's a refurb and new customer. The scenarios I'm asking about would be ones in which the customer never actually had points vest because the phone is never activated.

With TF, good luck trying to explain such subtleties to the CSR if you don't get the points! They make up excuses to take away legit points, and here the scenario is an iffy one to begin with.

The AAL points being pending has eliminated that device / line from eber getting AAL again.

Whether they vest or not is irrelevant.

Many refurb units do not get AAL.

And I really doubt big RPs will ever return, but who knows

Is this something you've tested or is it your opinion? You could be right. Refurb phones should qualify for AAL points because it is a new line and new customer for that particular phone. It's just that Tracfone doesn't reset some of them correctly. It seems to me a new phone that has not yet had points vested due to not being activated should still qualify for points. Just just depends how Tracfone has the website coded. May have to fight for them like people who added phones on the website and not through chat and didn't get pending points. Like anything with Tracfone, it's hit or miss depending on the particular CSR.

I don't buy phone from TF web site while logged into an account. But I think there are forum members who did and the phones were added automatically to their account. They didn't want to activate the phone in the account that bought the phone, so they removed it and added the phone to another account. It still got AAL points. Maybe someone who actually did that can chime in.

That only (might) work for phones added but where pending RPs did not appear.

Usually just a "try again" attempt, rather than wanting a different MyAccount to get the points.

But pretty much a moot point talking 500 rather than many thousands
