New cheap Smartphone vs. the $50 / 365 service day add on?

I need to add some service time by getting either another phone or just buying time. I've done both ways in the past.

I looked at a few under $100 Ebay bundles such as the Samsung Galaxy A03s and Motorola G Power & G Pure. These phones use a Mediatek processor & according to reviews & comments I’ve read, everything seems to indicate the new models are not as fast or capable as the earlier models.

The gsmarena website lists a Motorola G Power, G Power (2021) & G Power (2022). Reviews basically say it’s not worth upgrading to the 2022 model if you already have an earlier one. And the Samsung AO3s doesn’t get glowing reviews either.

Is it best to avoid the Mediatek based phones?

If this was me, I'd buy the bundle.
In fact, being a broke starving student, I'd buy the cheapest bundle, whatever its specs.
Then I'd continue using my better-spec'd original phone (after transferring the bundled service to it).

If you like your phone and it is not too old or worn, I would opt for the $49 add 365 days.

I'd get This pair of flip phones for the same cost and harvest 2 yrs of service plus 2400/2400/2400.

    Galaxy A03 bundled with 1500/1500/1500 for $59.99

    New customer code deducts $10:

If you have an existing account, look up your SPENDABLE KA$H and you likely have a $10 off code there.

So either way it's about $50 plus tax.
