Could some of you kind folks with Windows 11 do a sanity check on the nuttiness I've been seeing on the prepaid t-mobile website, please?
You don't even need an account, there. Just go to prepaid.t-mobile.com, click on Shop, then Phones. If you can't update the zip code, then you see my problem. Many functions don't work, from the IMEI check to logging into my mobile internet account.
I've done all the browser things, windows safe mode, disabled the firewall, tried different dns servers, forced it to ipv4 or ipv6, trying through a VPN, all on different ISPs and cellular networks. And yet it all works fine in the browsers in iPhones, Android phones, Windows 10, and Linux. So something very low-level on my Windows 11 box is wacky. But what? I see a few hints of others suffering the same out there, but no solution.
edit: I should add that the postpaid site, www.t-mobile.com works fine.

What browser ?
If you are able to type the new zip code, click on "update zip code" but when you are back to the shop page still shows the default zip code
,it could be more like a cookie issue. That's the type of info a cookie would store for a browsing session in a website.
If that's your scenario, you may have something that is preventing the site from updating the t-mobile cookie.
Thanks for the idea, but it's happening with multiple browsers and I can see that some t-mobile cookies are being set in the history/data settings.
Here is what I see in the Shop->Phones zip code thing.
Also, if you Shop -> Bring your own, then enter an IMEI, it complains about not using the correct number of digits, even when correct.
When I attempt to log in, it complains "oops, not able to link my number to the account." But works fine on other OSes, like I said.
Don't know ... I have workarounds, but was curious if others were seeing the same problems.
I used chrome and It took my zip code.
Well, for the first time in six months the website is working for me - shop zip code change, imei check, and account log in. Firefox 111.0.1 on Win11 Pro. I didn't change anything on my end. Must be an April Fool's joke they are pulling on me. ;-)
Incidentally, I stopped getting my auto-pay email notices in Dec, too. I still get a text though. I can live without it.
if it happens again try this:
open a administrator command prompt
type 'ipconfig /flushdns'
if that fixes it, it is not specifically Windows 11 related but a dns resolver cache needing to be cleared
Thanks. The site is still working for me.
I'll note that Windows 11 updated to v. 22H2 on March 28 on my PC which might have fixed something. And the website itself was down for most of March 27 for unknown reasons.
It all kind of felt like a JavaScript problem and I was looking into Browser User Agent Strings - which could lead to getting served a version of the web pages meant for another OS - when I noticed it was working.
Anyway, I plan to port-in an important phone number to t-mobile soon and a working web site is helpful. ;-)
