Does anyone know how to reset the voicemail account. My voicemail use to say "voicemail is not setup" when I don't pickup a call. Recently it started saying "the phone number and to leave a message. I want it to go back and say voicemail is not setup.
You'll need a rep to reset it for you.
I recently did this myself. I texted voicemail to 611611. It asks if you want to reset the password. Reply yes, and the announcement will go back to the voicemail is not set up. Just leave it that way.
When you reset your voice mail the password defaults off to the last 4 digits of your cell phone number. I seem to have issues with Visual Voice Mail on my iPhone XR where it's not working. I can live with it I just dial the number to call voice mail and check the messages there.
If you call the Tracfone corporate office at 305 640-2000 x1029 they should be able to enable VVM on the XR for you.
Best to call on a weekday and to call from another phone if possible.
With iPhones, VVM doesn't require data to be on at all to receive proper working VVM notifications or to retrieve the voicemail messages.
It can work on Wi-Fi alone (Android phones need to have data on to retrieve the messages).
You can still of course at all times use the basic voicemail system by dialing into *86 (w/Verizon) with VVM active.
In the past I used to call into the TF corp office to get VVM changed to Basic Voicemail (complete with basic vm notifications) which is a different system because I didn't like to keep data on and I was used to dialing into the basic system but since Verizon took over VVM now works without data on and it is actually a little faster and easier and more convenient to use than basic vm so I leave VVM active.
You can even change the voicemail password from the iPhone without having to call in or to send a text as well as set the greeting.
I do still keep a Basic VM contact ready to be used if I feel like the need to.
