Best T-Mobile Prepaid or MVNO for Short-Term Testing?

I have friends who are spending a lot of time taking care of sick relatives in a Verizon dead zone. I want to hook them up with an unlocked phone and some form of T-Mobile service so they can test drive T-Mobile to see if it is to their liking.

I already have a spare unlocked Moto G Pure to give them, what's the easiest and best way to get them up and running on T-Mobile so they can test it out?

I use Tello. It is a T-Mobile MVNO. It is highly customizable and "just works" without drama. Also, responsible customer service.

So nice of you. I assume the keyword is "testing" the T-Mobile network.

Your FreedomPop from Walmart is T-Mobile:

Otherwise install Mint Mobile's app and order a physical SIM for free.

If you google "t-mobile mvno trial":

Your unlocked Moto G Pure supports bands 12 and 71 for Extended Range 4G LTE (I assume the same if it's Tracfone then unlocked), but no eSIM.

Those Freedompop Wal-mart T-Mobile plans are no longer available from Wal-mart, unfortunately. I don't see any available on eBay, either.

Are the plans no longer available, or just the SIMs?

It sounds like your two may be the last unactivated FreedomPop SIMs from Walmart on earth.
    https://www.howardforums.com/showthr...2#post17245932

If you give me one, I'd be happy to try activating it and report back.

The last reported activation was 02-26-2023. Maybe you can report back your activation experience as the latest.
    https://www.howardforums.com/showthr...4#post17246274

However, after activation (if you can still get the free plan), do not change plan because you may not get the free plan back:

"Easy", I can not really judge well, but services to consider could be US Mobile (and customer needs to make a choice between T-Mobile or Verizon networks), or Tello Mobile.

Hello Mobile is $5 per month for unlimited talk and text and 500 MBs of data. The SIM is free and the $5 includes all taxes and fees. If the Moto G Pure can use an eSIM, Tello would be the quickest way to get it up and working.

Doesn't T-Mobile offer a 3 month trial for free? I thought I read something about that. Or do you have to be on another carrier to use that?

Pixel 3a on Tello — Alcatel Go Flip 3 on Tello — TCL Flip 2 on Hello Mobile — iPhone SE on FreedomPop — TCL Flip 2 on Tracfone — AGM M7 on FreedomPop

    Low-end Motos don't do eSIM.

prepaidcompare.net is a good source of what is available.

I agree with others recommending Tello if you don't need much service minutes & data MB.
