    Moving from PagePlus to ???

    Hello,
After being with PagePlus for almost 10 years, I’m finding myself wanting to move on to another provider. Customer service has always been weak but it’s really bad now plus they are discontinuing in 2024. I’m pretty competent in the tech area but needed to call their Help Dept occasionally.

Here is what I am looking for, would appreciate any suggestions:

    -2 lines on 2 iPhone 13s
-Verizon MVNO (great coverage in my area)
-Talk/Text and about 3-5 GB each per month OR unlimited
    -Good customer service
-Easy to reload or set up on monthly autopay
-Good app or website (PagePlus app is useless and website looks designed in 2005) for billing, call records, etc.

A frontrunner seems to be US Mobile? I heard about them from listening to Clark Howard’s program.

Admittedly I’ve had my head stuck in the sand for years as I was using the PagePlus $39.99 plan for each line. It seems there are much better deals elsewhere nowadays.

Is there an issue using an eSIM or does everyone recommend getting an physical SIM moving forward?

Thanks for any recommendations you may have.

Twigby is Verizon and has pretty reasonable prices. Unlimited talk and text and 7 GBs a month is $25 (plus tax and fees). HotSpot is included. If you're a new customer, the first three months are $15 for this plan. (4 GB is $20 month — $10 for the first three months, 10 GB is $30 a month — $20 first three, and unlimited is $40 a month, $30 first three.) WiFi calling and texting is supported. They charge by the month, not by 30 days, so your payment date is always on the same day. I had really good customer support. I eventually went away from Twigby (after several years) because Verizon was not strong where I live. Not sure if they have eSIMs yet or not.

wait.. pageplus shutting down in 2024?
i used to use them then i discovered freedompop, then i discovered mint mobile (and their 50% off sales at best buy).

Why are they shutting down and why a date so far in the future?

Check out Mobi. I've been using it for a year and very pleased. They have one basic plan that offers UT&T plus 1GB of data for $10/mo plus tax. Then you add the data you want. The website will not meet your requirements since call records are not available. But customer service has been fantastic and auto-pay was simple and easy.
I took the first step toward completing my bucket list. I purchased a bucket.

I agree with US Mobile. They are still offering 100 days free when you port.
Then you can select the plan that best fits your usage. They have a link on the website where you can see your usage by week or month. Esim is an option, but both of my kids are using the physical sim. The free 100 days also includes a hotspot, but I had to contact customer service to enable it after the first renewal on day 10.

I have not tried this, but with two lines (after the free 100 days), you could set them up to share a pool of data. The pooled plans do not have as many fees as the individual plans.

I agree with checking out https://mobi.com/, but do you know if the T-Mobile MVNO agreement will affect Mobi Vzw? https://www.fiercewireless.com/wirel...ement-t-mobile

Boz1, I didn't see your other post and I was not aware of this development. I have not received any notification from Mobi regarding any changes.

Twigby's customer service is AMAZING, the chat reps are actually brilliant! well worth spending more.

Very good policy changing plans mid-month when needed.

Ability to adjust data speeds, turn it on / off, review usage times is **100% unique**, great for kids.

VZW bought as part of TF deal, their call.

Giving customers time to move over to the mothership, or another captive subsidiary.

If the new provider does eSIM wait to do that as a separate standalone transaction after you know they are a keeper.

Yeah, there's no detail about what exactly is going on. It's possible that Mobi will be both a Vzw and T-Mobile MVNO. Hopefully details will come out soon.

Agreed. They never failed to answer a question or fix a problem in the five years (or so) I was with them.
