That's some chady chit.
Sounds like something for the BBB &/or FCC.

I scheduled a callback with the Loyalty Rewards team about restoring rewards points for a cancelled order. The agent who took the call did not understand the issue and kept asking me if I wanted to use my rewards points to get a service plan. I kept on saying no and repeated the reason why I called. He insisted that he has to send me a series of questions and when I completed them I would get a coupon code for accessories. I decided to play along since I realized he was clueless. What he sent me was the regular customer service survey you get after talking to an agent. He was even coaching me to answer 1 (Yes) to each question! Along the way I simply hanged up since I had some pressing issues to attend to. Later on in the evening when I tried to log on to my online account the system refused to recognize my email address! I tried yesterday and this morning to no avail.
This evening I installed the TF app on my phone. Luckily the app automatically logged me onto my account. When I checked my profile, I realized that my email address has changed to [email protected] (xxxxxxxxxx is the 10-digit number found under the address section of the profile). The clueless agent changed my email address without my permission! I promptly changed it back to my original email. Now I can log on again to my online account with my original email address.

That CS agent hates his job and is being a jerk on purpose. It's called "leveling". Messing you up so that you are as messed up as he is.
He is probably competent, or he wouldn't have come up with all that stuff.
Always simply disconnect as soon as you see it's a bad 'un
