Minimum use interval requirement on PPC?

I've never had to think about this regarding our beloved Page Plus, but after reading a recent thread in the TracFone forum I thought I'd ask.

Has anyone ever heard of a requirement like this, where you've got to show some usage of your account in a specified interval (six months, whatever)? I've got two PAYGO lines I swap as a daily driver using Google Voice and I've never run up against it.

I cannot remember if for PPC or some others, but somebody will need to make a call right now just to keep safe. Maybe receive a call too.

The reason Tracfone plans have a usage requirement is because you can sit on long periods of service time without any actual use. Service time with Page Plus is limited on both monthly and Pay-as-you-go plans. You have to renew the plan every 30 to 120 days. Tracfone just wants to make sure all phones active on their network are at least capable of being used, and not forgotten in a drawer or glove box. Does not matter with Page Plus because of the time limitations.

That makes sense, loboheeler. In that case I won't worry about it. Thanks for the responses, all.

Yes, but without looking at the Terms and Conditions, won't an account become inactive if the customer doesn't renew? Does Tracfone have some kind of permanent plan that doesn't require periodic renewal? Why would it matter whether or not the customer actually uses the number as long as he pays?
I took the first step toward completing my bucket list. I purchased a bucket.

Going over your renewal date will close down the account in either Tracfone or Page Plus. The difference between them is you can accumulate a large amount of service time with Tracfone. I have almost 5 years on my phone now. I don't think it's a burden to require some small usage to keep the network satisfied.

Thanks loboheeler. I wasn't aware of that detail. Looks like I'm going to have to change my will.
