RCS - Stuck on verifying phone number

    Hello,

Does anyone have a working solution to the problem of Google Messages getting stuck at verifying phone number when trying to setup RCS on Tracfone?

I have read dozens of suggestions / posts on other sites and tried all sorts of workarounds, but no success.

    Any working fixes?

    TIA.

When did you activate the phone?

I know sometimes with fresh activations, you have to wait for 48 to 72 hours.

If you have an old phone with RCS, you needed to make sure you unlink it from the old phone. Then you have to wait 48 to 72 hours for the system to drop the old info.

For clarification, what make/model cell phone are you using? Is it new or previously used?

My Tracfone account and number have been the same for about 4 years. I have a Moto G Power 2020 for about 3 years. I started using Google Messages about 4 months ago. RCS was working okay up until yesterday. I did not change anything prior to the failure of RCS. The Moto G Power was brand new factory unlocked when I bought it.

    Do you have enough data?

RCS uses data bucket over MMS bucket.

I wonder if the RCS service is having issues.

I have 22 GB of data available to me.
My T Mobile prepaid connect phone and my postpaid Verizon phone are both working fine on RCS. It is just the Tracfone that stopped working.

I posted an inquiry on Google's help forums stating that I was unable to receive Google verification codes to enable rcs. I did not receive a reply, but just now RCS started working for me. The settings show connected even though I didn't get any verification code. I don't know how this all occurred, but I am glad that it is working. So, if anyone else runs into the same problem, try to see if you can get a Google verification code by some other means, and if you cannot, post an inquiry on the Google help form, and maybe someone will fix it for you.

From what I know, Tracfone is using Google Jibe.

I do not know what T-Mobile and true Verizon using.
