Can't Install Howardforums app to new phone

Is the HoFo app being discontinued?

I have the app on most of my devices, but was unable to install it on a Moto 2023 Play.

I searched the app on Google Play and it never came up.

Usually it's listed in "Installed" in my Google Play "Manage Apps" section on phones it's installed on. It doesn't seem to be listed there anymore although it still works on the phones I have it on.

On new devices I usually install it from the "Not Installed" list that shows apps I've used on other devices. It's not on there anymore.

My most recent installation of the HoFo app was a Moto Pure I activated this last week. I installed the app right after I bought the phone maybe a month ago.

No trouble for me using the application on my phone. I upgraded my phone in Feb or March with no trouble. All of my apps were automatically installed on the new Galaxy S23 phone. Try again tomorrow.
    Just another day in paradise.....

He's not talking about using the app. He's talking about installing it from the Play Store on a new device.

When an app is removed from the store for whatever reason, it's not removed from devices that installed it previously and continues to work.

Looks like it was removed by Google for some reason. I can't find it in the Play Store either and when I click on App details in the App Info for the app on my phone, I see this message: "Something went wrong. Try again."

Hopefully, Howard will see this thread and will investigate. OP, in the meantime try searching for the app's apk and sideload it.

I understand that the OP couldn't download the app. I only suggested that he tries again later. I am not aware of a known issue, stuff occasionally happens. I only offered one possible solution.

    Thanks, TadMorose.

I searched on Google to see if I could find any info about Google Play removing the app and didn't see anything.

There's another app called Tapatalk that may have HoFo access. I may try that one.

Definitely something weird when I search an app on Google Play and it doesn't come up.

Yes, Tapatalk works well and is available. In fact the HoFo app is basically a custom version of Tapatalk.

There are apps that can package up an APK from an installed app for distribution to other phones.

If of interest, LMK and I'll track it down.

I installed Tapatalk and subscribed to HoFo. So, that's a solution for anyone else who can't find the HoFo app on Google Play.

I was able to add an Avatar image to my account using Tapatalk, something I couldn't do with the HoFo app. Okay, so now ya know. I'm green.

I am glad that Tapatalk worked for you. Maybe we should just call you "Kermit".

The HoFo app isn't kept up to date as quickly as the main Tapatalk app. In fact, we have to drop a ticket with them to get an update and they're not exactly on the ball with it.

I'm glad I still have so many devices with the HoFo app installed.

Yesterday I was trying to post using Tapatalk and it started glitching then got the "app has stopped" message popup. I didn't try it again because I was busy.

So far I like the Tapatalk app. It has ads but at least they're not like the TikTok ads on some apps that suddenly come on with all this noise and can't exit without closing the app. I delete anything that does that.

Tapatalk ads slide into view but I can scroll past without it blocking what I'm doing.

I have the same issue and I thought maybe HoFo had not been upgraded for Android 12 or higher.
I will try Tapatalk. Thanks for the info.
