For anyone wondering if they have smaller and cheaper plans, all their smaller plans are also shorter, making them poor value for long-term use. Prices for the US:
- USA: 1GB for 7 days - $4
- USA: 3GB for 15 days - $10
- USA: 10GB for 30 days - $14
I see no mention of which network is used. Also no larger data packages. 10GB for 30 days at $14 is definitely the cheapest 10GB chunk of data in the US though at $1.40 per GB, for either eSIM or physical prepaid SIMs. To get cheaper
per GB, you have to go to Ubigi's 20GB for $22/month ($1.10/GB).
If you're fine with less data though, there are several eSIM offerings of 1GB for $5/month, and a few for 3GB for $6 or $7/month (Mogo, Manet). All good for 30 days (not 7 days or 15 days, like above).
Their packages for European countries are per country (no EU-wide service) and in some cases have slightly better rates than the US. Here's Greece:
- Greece: 1GB for 7 days - $4
- Greece: 3GB for 15 days - $7
- Greece: 10GB for 30 days - $11
Note that if you buy any package while actually in Europe, they add VAT (so use a VPN to the US when ordering if abroad).
Finally they also have Global packages:
- Global: 1GB for 7 days - $8
- Global: 3GB for 15 days - $20
- Global: 10GB for 30 days - $50
Personally I'd use a combination of country-specific and regional SIMs/eSIMs instead to get something like global coverage at a lower cost.
Overall, compared to other eSIM offerings with 30-day packages, their price per GB seems competitive for the amounts of data
if you need around 10GB of data. If you don't need so much data, you're probably better off looking elsewhere.
Personally I think it's good to know about their 10GB plans as an emergency backup for bulk data if I'm traveling in one country and need it (e.g. bad or non-free hotel Wi-Fi), but I probably won't ever actually use them as somsone who rarely needs more than a GB of data per month.
