Since the acquisition of TracFone, it’s (Verizon) lost more than 2 million subscribers.

I wonder, does Verizon count TF/TMO and TF/AT&T as there own in the numbers. If so, I wonder if TMO and AT&T also count them on their own network since they are really using the TMO & AT&T network? Based on Verizon's attempt to push customers off of TF/TMO and TF/AT&T it makes a lot of sense they are losing a lot of prepaids now. They must have figured that would happen, I'd think.

Probably why the newest TF BYOP SIM Kit now includes a TF/T-mo SIM besides the TF/Verizon SIM.

I don't know how Verizon reports TF/TMO and TF/ATT customers but I suspect they include them in the prepaid count.

T-Mobile and AT&T report MVNO customers as wholesale customers, not as prepaid customers. Wholesale and prepaid are separate line items in their quarterly financial reports. Verizon doesn't report wholesale customer counts at all, just the revenue.

    That makes sense. Thanks!

I think the whole point of acquiring TF was b/c they were losing postpaid customers prior to the acquisition and prepaid was a means to offset those loses.

    https://www.fiercewireless.com/wirel...one-losses-q1#

Guess they'll have to try something new if they're still losing BOTH postpaid and prepaid now.

Can't be a good thing to spend so much on acquiring TF and then losing 2 Million customers afterwards.

Although, it seems they're trying to increase revenues by taking away all the nice add-a-line 10K and decreasing referral or game rewards overall since the beginning of the year to offset all those loses.

Verizon isn't good at buying companies. They lost $4 Billions after buying Yahoo and AOL for $9B and sold them for $5B .

Verizon has owned TF for 2 years now. They lost TF customers/lines from cutting back the Rewards points and pressuring people to switch to Verizon. They will lose more TF customers if they do away with the PAYGO plans. Then they will cut their losses and sell it....probably to T-mo

The advantage to using Tracfone on Verizon is that you can get a TracFone locked phone unlocked in 60 days. I've read where some are able to activate StraightTalk, SimpleMoblie and TotalWireless locked phones in addition to TracFone locked phones on TracPhone's $15 per month plan for one month and the phone is unlocked after 60 days.
