i plan to give it a try tomorrow and hope to reclaim at least my Walmart GSMT lines that I actually made use of, not sure if i will even bother with Target GSMA lines

if successful in the removal from old account plan to get the cheapest available visa gift card for each line and than quickly run down the balance on each card, no more using the same card on multiple lines like i did in the past

i just got off a long chat session. the agent was not able/willing to remove the lines from my account but did say the issue has been escalated and i should get an email with detailed instructions on how to get the service working again on separate accounts for each line.

at no point did they indicate a limit of one free line per person, only a limit of 'one per email address or account'

below was provided to me on a chat session:

As you are aware we’ve implemented a new requirement that limits the number of lines per that are subscribed to a free plan. There can now only be one free subscription per account/username. This requirement was implemented to help combat the risk of fraudulent abuse.

After account review by management it looks like you had more than one line subscribed to a free plan under one account. Please understand that we do not believe that you have committed abuse; however, we have placed this new requirement as a precautionary measure.

Not to worry, we want to ensure we get your service up and running. To do so please follow the instructions below:

    1. Each individual mobile line owner will need to create their own account that is associated with a unique username and email address.
    2. Each account is required to have a different credit card associated.
    3. After the individual account is created, each account owner will need to log into their account and add their preferred mobile number.
    - To do so, select “Manage Your Account” >> select “Activate New Line” >> select “Add existing FreedomPop Line”

We understand how this could be alarming and want to help make this process smooth.

on one of the new accounts i attempted to use the prepaid gift card i had been using previously and received an error message that the card was associated with another account and could not be used. seems they are now systematically blocking same card on multiple accounts.

I currently have two Free Walmart GSMT lines in one account. I followed the instructions above, but after I created/logged into the new account -->clicked on Add Existing Freedomp Line -->entered the phone number to be moved -->clicked on ADD MDN, it came back with "Unable to add existing Unreal line. Contact Unreal Customer Support". FP Chat already closed for today. I'll try them tomorrow.

first step is the 2nd line needs to be removed from the original account, help from support is needed for that part, after you can follow the steps

Chatted with a FP rep this morning. He removed one free line from my old account and I added it to my new account. Tip: if the site says it can't send a verification text to your phone, choose the option to verify by the full SIM ID.

Interesting. I'll have to give this a try tomorrow. I had one account with a bunch of free lines, which were being used by family members. Mostly as backup phones so minimal use.. but nothing shady. I get what they're trying to do but I think there were much better ways to go about it than just cutting everything off.
Castrol EDGE 0W-20 is my drug of choice.

    Primary: iPhone 14 Pro Max (T-Mobile & Verizon); Pixel 6a (AT&T)
    Mobile Broadband: Franklin T10 LTE hotspot (5GB for $8.50) / iPad mini 6 5G (unlimited 5G data)

Tried chatting with them, they said my account is "under management review" but they'll forward the request to have the lines removed from the account so they can be added to individual accounts. I told them I had added my family's lines to my one account but understand why they want to limit the free lines to one per account. Thankfully they're just extras but I did activate them and send them off to relatives. I did keep two for myself though, one GSMA and one GSMT.

Took three tries but I finally got all the old lines deleted from the old account and was able to add them to individual accounts. I certainly would NOT bank on FreedomPop for primary service of any kind. I'd rather pay Tello a few bucks a month and know it will always work.
