How to convert from Physical SIM to eSIM?

I use an iPhone and have a line through SafeLink on Tracfone. How can I move from the physical SIM to the eSIM on my phone? I am always concerned about changing anything on my phone. Thank you.

Have you tried, activate keeping your number use’ing the eSim.

Not sure if it will work since it’s the same device.

    Wont hurt to try.

They won't know it's the same device unless you tell them.

Each SIM slot whether pSIM or eSIM has its own IMEI, as far as providers are concerned they look and act like separate phones.

This makes the process of trying to switch an existing line from pSIM to eSIM pretty straightforward for TF veterans willing to risk wasting a lot of time and potential frustration

but OP specifically expressed trepidation, so maybe best to leave their current TF line alone

and use the eSIM side with another provider more competent and with systems "fluent in eSIM"

I'm not sure Safelink has that capability? or at least I have not heard of it being used on a Tracfone brand. On AT&T Postpaid if you go into Cellular, Apple now gives you an option to transfer your AT&T Physical to eSim so it might be up to the carriers on Support for that.

This is what I did with my iPhone SE 3, it worked no issues. The iPhone was a Walmart ST rebranded to Tracfone, unlocked after 60 days, and then did the switch to esim. When activating the esim I said it was byod. Good luck.
