It's impossible to answer without knowing where you live and what you mean by "better" - in other words, what do you want in a mobile phone service?

I might be switching, but I don't know. Right now I have T-mobile.

you are looking at 2 very different carriers. You must be specific with what you want out of the carrier. Then people can help you more.

I had SprintPCS up till this last Saturday. I have T-Mobile now and am very happy with T-Mobile. I think it really depends on what you're looking for in a company. Here in San Jose, CA the coverage is about the same for Sprint and T-Mobile, so what I was looking for were good rate plans (Tmo), good customer service (Tmo), and good data rates (Tmo). At least here in SJ, Tmo rules!![]()

i think the difference is like between herpes and a cold.
and tmo is the cold....
but its true, it depends on whats in your area and suits you best.
Based on my experience in the New England area, go with T-Mobile.
dude, where are you located?Originally posted by LightZero

its your location and wherever you're usually are that will differentiate 2 carriers
unless both of them has equally good service in your area, i might say, get the better deal![]()
just go with TMO anyway..

Just do this, check how many days you have to decide whether or not to keep the Sprint service. Cuz if it sucks in your area, bounce with the quickness.
The call quality and network reliability are much higher at Sprint, but I'm too cheap to switch so that's all I'm going to say.
Coverage -- Advantage Sprint (especially with roaming on Verizon's network)
Data Rates -- Advantage Sprint (Unlimited Vision for $15 and the ability to connect to your laptop to access the internet at 144kbps is quite amazing, no one compares to this)
Prices -- Advantage T-Mobile (No question)
Phones -- Advantage T-Mobile (Ah the world of GSM phones)
Features -- Advantage T-Mobile (Sprint doesn't have SMS/MMS, though Sprint has ReadyLink walkie-talkie...but that's not something everyone's interested in)
Customer Service -- Advantage T-Mobile (T-Mobile reps are very polite...much more than I can say about Sprint's)
International Roaming -- Advantage T-Mobile (NO question here)
Anything else you can think of?
Coverage - Absolutely, from my personal experience anyway. YMMV depending on where you're located.Originally posted by igarvey

Data Rates - Yep. But technically you're not allowed to tether your handset to a laptop/PDA. And the fact that without BT, you're forced to carry another cable around. Sort of defeats the purpose of portability to me.
Prices - Depends. I think if you go with the higher end plans/shared phones, I think they're about equal or even a nod to Sprint PCS.
Phones - Agreed. RL is nice but I would've preferred if Sprint continued to offer J phone (NTT Docomo) clones instead.
Features - Currently? T-mobile. But as soon as Sprint offers MO-SMS, they'll be slightly ahead (still no BT enabled phones).
Customer Service - Abso-freaking-lutely.
International Roaming - Yep!
