Can I Use An AT&T Wireless Locked Phone with Cingular

Hi everybody, I have a Cingular Sim card and my phone broke. My friend can give me a new Nokie 6820 that is locked to AT&T Wireless. Will I be able to put in my sim card and just use it? I know it can be unlocked but unfortunately we put in 5 wrong codes and now it can only be unlocked using hardware. Please let me know if i can ust put in my cingular sim card and have it work.

No, it has to be unlocked first.

You can goto ***SORRY! LINK REMOVED*** They have an online unlocking tool that should work for that phone.

Nokia`s are fairly easy to unlock with a little searching. Read the instructions carefully. You only get 5 tries, after that it will need a cable/software to unlock....Opps, too late...need to read the posts better.

The phone isn`t ruined, but it`ll now only work on AT&T.

Since your phone is now hard locked, your only option would be to do something like contact an advertiser here, send your phone in so it can be connected to the appropiate hardware and then unlocked that way. iUnlock / evan_silbert is a good one to contact. He has a subforum in the marketplace, or you can go to www.iunlock.com
