I have a newer (bought < 6 mos ago) VAIO laptop and i didn't realize that it didn't have IR until I went to transfer something to my phone. I was surprised because I thought it was a pretty standard feature.

all desktop = you are out of luck as they never include IR unless you buy a usb one or something
laptop = some have, some doesn't as transfer rate is just too slow and not needed by end user (maybe that's why not every laptop has it)

Many motherboard manufactureres at least until recently included IR headers on the motherboard.
    My Plan:
Simple Choice Unlimited Talk + Text + Web
    Line 1: Unlimited 4G Data + 500 MB HotSpot
    Line 2: 2.5 GB 4G data/HotSpot

I think all ThinkPads except G have an IrDa port.
