I have t-mobile and a strong signal everywhere around where i live except inside my apartment. My roommate has a full signal with verizon. The only way I can use my phone (A630) is if I am right by an open window, or outisde on the balcony. The phone will have a signal and ring in the apartment, but I can't talk unless i go outside. I tried one of those cell signal booster stickers that you put on the back of the phone, and it seemed to make a small difference, but still not enough. I saw that there is a plug in the back of the phone for an external antenna. Has anyone tried this or have one to recomend? How well do they help? The only ones I could find are for mounting on a car. Do they make one for the purpose I need? Thanks.

Apple Employee 4 Life.
Holy **** Those Are Expensive!!!
I would buy a couple of new phones with that kind of money and gladly stand outside to talk!
Wow, I thought I had no life, here's a bunch of guys just putting time into their Cell phones......![]()
Those stickers are a complete joke. External antennas are nice though. If Motorola made a cradle for the phone, to use it in a wired car kit, I'd get that and a magnet-mount antenna. Then just use a BT headset instead of holding the phone, works out well enough.
Reason for getting the cradle would be to make very well sure the external antenna jack doesn't get damaged. If you just have a wire hanging off it and it gets bumped a bit to hard to the side it can case the jack to lift off the board and not have any signal whatsoever. Sucks man.
hawaiian, can you direct me to where you found an external antenna for $10? The cheapest I found was a wilson magnetic antenna and adapter for about 30 shipped on ebay.
can anyone point me to a good cheap external antenna or do i just need to go spend the $30?
I'm actually contemplating the same thing, I live in NYC, love my apt but the reception is bad, I'm considering the $40 trucker antenna from Wilson, with an adapter.. I wish Moto had a cradle that would be ideal!
Bought a booster from acs wireless and it is worthless!
forget those peel on stickers, get a GSM spotwave repeater
I put the "HO" back in "HOFO"
