So... Let's Bring Your Dead E398 Back To Live AGAIN, Once More!!!

How to revive your dead E398

Tools that can help you :
1). A screwdriver for handphone.
2). A scissor, knife or any sharp metal and flatheaded metal.
3). An E398 data cable

Software you will need:

1). MotorolaFlashFlex, SmartMoto, Flashbackup, or RAMLDR. instaled on your PC.

2). Any *.Shx file that contain BL07do or lower. or you can use this "R372_G_0E.20.26R_BL07BO_flash.zip" this is only to make your phone have the Bootloader. not your PDS...

3). Your phone backup only " if you have one". Do not use other phone backup it will never work. using RAMLDR "here the link how to use RAMLDR Click here" or Flashbackup is the same.

Follow this excact step by step :

1). Open your phone cassing using the screwdriver, keep the cassing in save place.

2). See the pic above and your phone that already opened. there is a metal covering the short point, remove it using your scissor, knife or any sharp metal. CAREFULLY!!! you may remove it half only until you can see the short point, or you can remove the metal cover. it's doesn't effect anything wether you open half or remove it completely.

3). Run MutyFlashFlex or SmartMoto

4). Plug your opened phone to it's datacable and your PC.

5). Put the batery to it's pin. this is required cos your phone will need electric from the batery to make it shorted.

6). Short the point that pointed by the pic using screwdriver or any flat headed metal. do not use solder coz the Heat can effect any electronical IC near the short point. short it fast until MultyFlashFlex detect that your pone is now S BLANK NEPUTE LTE. then unshort it.

7). Go to MFF or SmartMoto. Browse *.SHX file that contain BL. then do flashing your phone remember to keep the batery on it's pin while you flashing your phone. wait until it's done can take 10-15 minute.

8). When it's done or you'll see green light on MFF or no phone conected on SmartMoto. you can remove the batery from it's pin and put your pone cassing back on.

9). Press # + * + on. push it a lillte bit longger then usual. you'll see that your phone can go to BL. You can be happy at this state. but it still can't get to welcome screen yet.

10). If it's still not showing BL you need to repeat from step 1 but this time with diffrent *.SHX that contain BL.

11). Restore your phone backup. If you do not have your own backup... then ask Your_Moto_saver to help you provide that backup. He capable to make backup using you imei not only your PDS backup but 16MB file fullbackup ("your emei".SHX) that is only for your phone or other pone with the same imei only.

Then you need to flash again with V398 Mp's after restoring from *.SHX that Your_Moto_Saver give, then make backup of it using RAMLDR or FlashBackup, and promise your self that your E398 will never dead again...

12). If your phone did succed to BL, then you need to restore your phone backup using RAMLDR "MANUAL USING RAMLDR " OR flashBackup. wait until it succed, then try to turn on you phone. press on button a lillte bit longger.

13). Thanks to GOD that your phone is back a live again!!! and always remember to make backup before you do any experiment with your phone.

Note:
This tread is to help Dead E398 only and please recharge your batery using desktop charger before doing all listed above... and ofcourse to make E398 PeperWeight Exist No more forever...

Thanks to Your_Moto_Saver that give me the diagram, make *.SHX file to revive my E398 and trust me wether let me show this on forums or not. sorry that i don't keep my promise to not keep this as a secret... :P LOL... but hey come on!!! if you have the abilities to revive E398, please do not hide it, we need your help DUDE!!!... and ofcourse you are rock!!!

Thanks to Shoey that make the i398 mp altough still have bugs on it but it's more stable hopely your MP V2 will on forums soon. Keep the HardWork Dude!!!...

this is not about taking profit or not... but the man is trying to help us... i think is it's fair enough to pay him compare you have to pay motorola sevice center they may charge you more than that. i don't mind paying as long my beloved E398 is revive again... i'm not defending him but it's seem he studied this case and that worthed something, right? i would give anything to revive my pone back, thanks is seems not worthed enough to pay the man, do you?

yes... using RAMLDR or flashbackup we got 32mb file, but what he made is the PDS file that only to make the phone back alive in minimum size... that's why after restoring your own backup i recomended you flash again using V398 mp then make backup...

well i don't know about that... i think you should consult to Your_Moto_Saver in private about it... coz it's about individual... some may thing it's taking provit "like you for example" but some might think it's fine as long my pone back alive "like me for example"... Your_Moto_Saver is not ShadowPhantom. we diffrent person... there's no use if talk to me... i'm here only to post that what can help others becose i've fell that i've been helped... i have nothing to do with the price or what so ever... it's up to individual how to take it... right?

heh, i unnecessery panic :] when phone is blank response is 0000000000000000000 in hex, not 0241434B1E4A554D502C303346443030313003 (ACK JUMP) and ramdlr dont undersnand response i use mmf and triplets with BL and flash pass

Well, I'm currently stuck with a E398 which can only reach the boot loader. I also don't have any backups. To me, $20 is worth it to have a PDS backup of my phone.

My E398 is as good as dead with the useless & buggy i398 FW. I will pay money for someone to help me roll it back to the V398 firmware.

I was surprised with Your_Moto_Saver charging for recovery but since I coudn't manage to create a new PDS out of IMEI based on these russian instructions (and this crappy webtranslator) I would definatelly pay YMS for this file if I ever need it. Or maybe english-russian users of this forum could help us get in touch with russian gurus.
