    Blackberry w/ Windows Mobile 5

Word on the street is Tmobile will be carrying the first BB with WM5. Can anybody confirm this or is this all just a rumor?

Source : Tmobile Store Mgr - I was told this when I was gonna buy a 7105t and the mgr told me that a new one was comin out soon.

Yeh sure... Just what we need, lets take a rock solid secure, trusted device and put WM5 on it.

I would say it's possible if they are using Blackberry Connect. I would think we would have heard about the phone first. Did they say who was making it?

    Ew!

all i have to say is EW!

like BBfinch said.. why take a good thing and ruin it with WM5.0?

how many times have we heard of a windows security breach? never a security breach on the BB Os.. i THINk what that manager was trying to say was theres a pocket pc with WM5.0 comming out with BB connect.. not a BB with WM5.0

    i think hes confuzzled!

The 8700t will be out soon* for T-Mobile. It does not run WM5. The SDA & MDA are both WM5 devices and were released recently. Perhaps he was confused?

*Rumors are anywhere from later this week to April.

That is what the mgr told me. Whether its true or not I dont know. That is why I posted about this topic.

What is supposed to different about the new 8700t that separates it from the other 8700 models?

    Carrier branded .

For example: 8700c= Cingular, 8700r=Rogers, etc...

RIM has been working on selling it's technology for a while. Looks like we will be seeing some non-RIM units with Blackberry services heading our way soon.

Agreed. Those that are worried can remain with a RIM unit. In my case I would love it as I own a whole bunch of software that would run in WM5, and now I carry both my 8700C and my Axim X50v.
    To each his own....

I think we will see BB services offered on both Windows and Palm OS. It is only a software thing so I hope it really catches on and we are offered options. I see all this nice new hardware coming out and I am not talking 8700 either. Devices like the Motorola Q and Treo 700 will be VERY popular and will grab a little bit larger slice of the "pie"
