Are the 3G icons flickering yet on those Nokia 6263?

no difference on standby screen
no 3G icon, only G when connected
I can verify it's truly 3G
called my number when playing streaming on my laptop
call went through

Hahah heck yeah! So much for it being voice only, eh?

I haven't plugged in my 6263 yet, but I'm hoping they flip the switch in Vegas today too. Not likely but I still can hope.

Edit: Just plugged it in. If its going live in Vegas today it isn't live yet. I'm still only getting 170k. Of course that's double what I got last night...

the reception on 3G mode is same as 2G
means I still have no reception in the basement without repeater
this is about the same as I thought
everybody in tri-state area, pick up your T-mo branded 3G phone and tether to see what is yours

i knew it wasnt voice only people were getting their panties in a bunch before 3g was even launched because engagenet mobile said it would be voice nly. i dont take them as a most reliable source. but whatever. maybe this will teach everyone not to believe everything they hear and use the wait and see method

Now we just need a 3g smart phone.

I hope t-mobile surprises us all and has one come out soon.

Exactly. It would have been extremely dumb for T-Mo to release a 3g DATA network and not provide higher DATA speeds. And from what TBD says, it didn't help with voice coverage much either.....

Wait, so the 6263 isn't like most S40 Nokias in that the tower icon turns into a stacked '3G' next to the signal strength indicator? Odd...

Congrats either way, now we just need some of that over here. :p

It has the same footprint as gsm for the most part. Coverage can be improved now because frequencies are being freed up for more cells.

No one else (TmoNews, Engadget Mobile, BGR, or CPS) Have this yet. What a good day to be a HoFo member! =P

it appears not all Brooklyn has 3G, I see alot of handoff when I observe the bitrate on slingplayer
but it's pretty smooth, no single internet disconnect

thats good news. t-mobile does it right all the time

Congrats, TBD. You New Yorkers are all lucky punks.

They are likely bringing it up in clusters so they can watch for major performance issues.

Now someone needs to announce that the X1 is ready to be released and we can have it next week. That'll make my day!

if that were true it would make everyone happy

The no data everyone is talking about is HSDPA. They should have had a datacard or phone or something available at launch.
