This is in Lynchburg, VA right by liberty. Finally seeing band 30. I live in Wilmington, NC and haven't seen any band 30 yet.

Band 2 20x20
"There's an issue in your area" according to mark the spot. It always this says and nothing happens. They can keep adding bands, it doesn't matter. The site I'm on has 60 MHz of downlink FFS.

good enough speeds for me, I'd still like to see an 100mbps test though

B30 + B4

Those RSRP values for B4 are nowhere near correct. I see as low as -79 here.

You can't you need to be jailbroken to use cellularinfo

Aww darn! I wanted to see what bands I'm connecting to because Field Test is just useless on the iPhone 7/7+ intel variants..

Also, just another night in NYC with AT&T and the network is just crumbling from the congestion at Lincoln Center..

0.26Mbps down
0.16Mbps up

Simply atrocious.. might as well either switch to Verizon or T-Mobile to have a good experience in NYC..

(Would upload the test but it keeps saying I exceed the size limit no matter how much i crop it down)

SNR/Network conditions at work are never anything to complain about. 30.0 on B30!

These results make no sense to me. I can't understand why speeds are so slow there. There is plenty of spectrum and backhaul deployed. Something is just bizarre downtown.

Could it just be too much power causing overlapping signal? Maybe it just needs to be tuned down a bit. They need to find that "sweet" spot.

My route for the rest of the tests is 528 West to Florida Turnpike North to I-75 North until Ocala. Unloaded cells galore! They widened B5 to 10x10 in Orlando.

What parts of NYC ? Many areas of Manhattan are still extremely congested.

All five boroughs but heavily concentrated on Manhattan. I'm surprised to hear congestion is still an issue but they're still mid build-out.

AT&T doesn't really seem to care about the NYC market as much as they should. They have historically been bad here (though 2007 was the worst).

VZW also experienced a similar situation with an overloaded LTE network but they seemed to learn from the issue. Why hasn't AT&T? The network is hit or miss.

I've seen speeds as low as 0.03Mbps in midtown and just recently 0.26Mbps yesterday. They really need to step it up.

Secondary T-Mobile phone pulls in 30-100Mbps on average (on nexus 6p).

That is a good question. My guess is they have the plans to improve dramatically but they aren't getting funded. It could also be that since Verizon is already serving the area very well that AT&T doesn't bother to compete too much and let's them have it. I feel like it's the opposite in Chicago AT&T is the champion and Verizon sits more on the sidelines. But then go in my county 30 miles from the city and Verizon is the champion while AT&T sits around doing next to nothing.

That's a good point. In some areas one carrier is dominant so it seems the others just give up and concentrate elsewhere

I've found att hspa to perform quite well where att LTE is not useable. What they need to do is shut off one hspa carrier ( they currently have three going). Refarm that to LTE ( band 2 5x5)
