So, we finally got some great news today!

Since Wind will now be going forward with launch, it seems like an appropriate time for passing on some of the details that people have been most the most anxious to find out: Pricing!

As I've shared previously, there are three plans that Wind will have available. These are, with pricing included:

Chat: $15 per month
Unlimited WIND to WIND calling (Canada wide)
Unlimited incoming text
100 province-wide voice minutes
50 text messages

Always Talk: $35 per month
Unlimited WIND to WIND calling (Canada wide)
Unlimited province-wide calling
Unlimited incoming text
50 outgoing text messages

Always Shout: $45 per month
Unlimited Canada-wide calling
Unlimited incoming /outgoing text messages
Voicemail

Data Plans
Infinite Mobile: $35 per month (used with any voice plan)
Unlimited internet for phones (tethering too)

Infinite Laptop: $45 per month
Unlimited internet for USB data sticks

Possibly there will be a web on your phone only type data plan for $10/mn.

BlackBerry data plans
Social BlackBerry: $10 per month
Unlimited instant messaging, Facebook and MySpace.

Infinite BlackBerry: $35 per month (used with any voice plan)
Unlimited internet for BlackBerry

Addons:
Voice: 10c Per Minute with the $15 plan
SMS: 10c each
MMS: 20c each
Voicemail: $5

Long Distance:
$20 for unlimited North America
I don't have a lot of other details on long distance, there is going to be a number of different plans.

Feel free to ask any questions. I expect that stores will be open and selling phones in approximately a week, a final date hasn't been fixed yet. Yay Wind! :clapping:

Sounds really good!

Is it unlimited evenings/weekends? When do evenings start?

What about plans where you don't want unlimited and want, let's say 2 gigs?

Also, do all plans come with Callerid and call waiting?

All but the first option have unlimited calling.

Is there any SMS packages? or just the 0.10/message?

EDIT: Sorry didn't see the $45 plan with unlim text.

caller id included in any of the plans?

so no unlimted text in the $35

hmmm

interesting...
I wish there was a option for about $15 were we can have 1 or 2 gb of data instead of paying $35 for unlimited. Things look good though.

Thanks for the information! Do you have any idea when phone prices will be announced?

I believe that CID and some form of voicemail is included, according to previous threads.

Always shout is the plan for me. :) The data prices seem kind of high for me though. Hopefully they offer smaller data plans.

I meant for the Chat option, is there unlimited evenings/weekends? I was too excited to clarify haha

how does buying a handset work if there is no contracts? Is a Blackberry going to cost $600, or is there going to be something like the koodo tab?
Is caller ID included?

Thanks for the info - looks good!

PS. The $35 plan is absolutely ridiculous. It completely slaughters any of the non-retention $35 plans out there.

edit: Ooops, missed the $5 voicemail option.

so we if call a different province it will cost us 10 cents ?

and no options for a certain amount of texts included in the plans, just the regular 50?

Yes, all include that, and call forwarding.

Handset pricing:
Prices are going to be slightly below the cost of what Wind pays per device. So it will depend on the manufacturers, and how much of a bulk purchase discount they give.

Incoming calls are either free like all calls on the $35/45 plan, or billed per minute on the $15 plan.

Theres too big of a gap between chat & always talk and social & infinite blackberry. Most consumers want something inbetween those price points, I feel they will lose out on customers with this structure.

Windsider, any news on upcoming handsets other than the ones already announced?
